Kassie and Mallory met in college, and bonded over getting into the College of Education the same semester. You could find Kassie and Mallory usually out together Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights with tiny hands pestering people.  After college, Kassie and Mallory stayed close and made it through student teaching during COVID. Kassie now lives in Chicago with her Fiancé, Jonah, and dog Hudson. Mallory and Kassie still get together for Iowa games and the occasional trip into Chicago.   Distance has never gotten in the way of their friendship—they kept each other sane through teaching, life changes, and everything in between. Kassie is someone who will give you the truth even when you don't want to hear it, and Mallory appreciates honesty in their friendship. Kassie is kind, loyal, and an amazing best friend. 

Kassie Larsen 

Ian and Clay met in college and were roommates for several years at the University of Northern Iowa. Since college, life has taken them to different places - Ian and his family live in Gretna, NE, while Clay and Mallory live in North Liberty, IA - but they've stayed very close over the years. Whether it's Clay and Mallory making the trip to Gretna or Ian, Jessie, and the kids making it over to visit North Liberty, they try to catch up several times a year, usually with a round of golf involved. Ian possesses all of the qualities you look for in a best friend and is someone that Clay can always count on. Clay is honored to have Ian as his best man and to be there with Clay and Mallory on their special day.

Ian Green 

Samatha is Mallory's cousin and someone she can always count on. Mallory and Samantha grew up tailgating together for Iowa football games. Since Mallory and Samantha are only children, Mallory looks up to Samantha like an older sister. Samatha lives in West Branch, Iowa, with her husband Jordan, daughter Hayden, and they are expecting a baby, Miller, in December. Clay soon met Samantha and became family after many Iowa football tailgates. Mallory, Clay, Jordan, and Samatha have grown close and just finished their first year of taking over the planning of Iowa tailgating. Samthana is someone Mallory looks to for advice, and they always have fun when they are together.

Kyle was one of the first friends Clay made when moving from Colorado to Iowa almost 20 years ago. Kyle and Clay became very close friends throughout high school and both played on the high school golf team. They remained close friends throughout college and lived together after college for several years. Kyle now lives in Des Moines, IA, with his girlfriend Nicole, and visiting/hosting each other is something Clay and Mallory always look forward to. Kyle has always been a selfless friend who is always there for Clay and is someone anyone would be lucky to have as a friend.

Kyle Hackett 

Megan and Mallory grew up together as second cousins. Being the same age, they shared similar interests and hobbies. Megan was and still is the closest thing to a sister Mallory has. Although they have never lived close to each other, they made time to spend weeks together in Iowa City and West Des Moines. Megan now lives in Minneapolis with her kitty Holgan.  Megan is someone that Mallory can count on for advice and can make a mean stiff drink at midnight. Megan was one of the first people Mallory called after Clay proposed. Mallory and Clay can't wait to have Megan a part of their day. 

Megan Cushing 

Austin and Clay became friends almost 20 years ago. They first met at Excelsior Middle School, and both attended Linn Mar High School together. Whether it was Austin making the trip up to UNI, or Clay coming back to Cedar Rapids during breaks within the school year, the two friends always make a conscious effort to stay in touch with one another. Since college, Austin and Clay have remained friends and have bonded over similar interests, including golfing and running. Austin is someone Clay can always rely on and often reaches out to for advice.

Kayla and Mallory have known each other since their freshman year of high school. Going to the same college, Kayla and Mallory still kept connected and would run into each other. Junior year, Mallory, Kayla, and Kassie had many memories of going out together and many laughs. Post-college, Kayla moved to Des Moines, where she is a teacher.  Mallory enjoys girls' weekends of visiting Kayla, as well as an occasional girls' night in Iowa City with espresso martinis from Basta, of course. Kayla is someone who can always make you laugh and always picks up the phone and helps in any way she can.  Mallory cannot wait to have Kayla by her side on her wedding day. 

Kayla Luegering 

Brandon and Clay first met and became friends while attending Linn Mar High School. After high school, Brandon and Clay were roommates for several years in college. Brandon was always the more responsible roommate, but still always loved to go out and have fun. Life has also taken Brandon and Clay in different directions, as Brandon and his family live in Olathe, KS, but Brandon is always a friend that Clay looks forward to catching up with when they can. Brandon is someone who truly wants the best for his friends, and his honesty and level-headedness are something Clay always appreciates. 

Brandon (Richie) Richardson 

Courtney is a friend from high school. Courtney and Mallory reconnected after both moving back to the Iowa City area. Mallory and Courtney love visiting Kayla in Des Monies or having Kayla visit in Iowa City. They have all bonded over good wine, espresso martinis, and a good yap session. Girls' nights with the two of them are one of Mallory's favorite things. Courtney recently got a puppy that will soon be best friends with Mallory and Clay's puppy Waffles. Courtney is a kind friend who is giving, kind, and funny. Mallory looks forward to having Courtney stand by her on her wedding day. 

Courtney Fitzharris 

Tyler and Clay first became friends by playing golf together on the high school golf team while attending Linn Mar High School. Tyler went on to the University of Iowa, but the two remained close friends. There were many weekends where either Tyler would travel up to Cedar Falls, or Clay would travel down to Iowa City for the weekend. After college, the two remained close as they both lived in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area and would get together to watch sports or play golf as often as they could. Tyler's humor and supportiveness are something that Clay appreciates in their friendship.

Tyler McCann

Lauren and Mallory became friends after teaching at the same school. They were chatting in the car line after school and realized they had a lot in common. Lauren asked Mallory if they wanted to be besties and they have not stopped talking since. Lauren is someone you can trust and will always make you laugh when you need it. Mallory and Lauren will be teaching on the same 3rd-grade team this year. 

Lauren Krogman 

Carter is Clay's younger brother and only sibling. The two have grown closer over the years as they have gotten older. Both Carter and Clay share that golf is their favorite activity, and they have bonded over playing golf together. Carter's success and ability to make conversation with anyone are things that Clay looks up to and admires about Carter. It means a lot to Clay to have Carter standing with him on his big day, and Clay is glad they've been able to build a stronger friendship. 

Carter Vieth 

Madi is a long-time friend and someone who is truly kind from the inside out. After high school Madi moved to Cedar Rapids and Mallory stayed in Iowa City. They still had nights together exploring their new college lives.  Madi lives out of town, but FaceTime calls make up for the distance. Mallory looks to Madi for advice, especially about the wedding as Madi just got married to her husband Mason this year. Madi is one of Mallory's biggest cheerleaders and supporters. Madi will be a great help on their big day.

Raina and Mallory started teaching third grade together in 2025. Mallory and Raina instantly clicked. Raina is giving, kind, and always down for fun. Raina is someone Mallory can always count on to help in anyway. Mallory also looks up to Raina as a third grade teacher. Raina is always giving Mallory tips and making copies for her. Mallory is grateful for the many laughs and can’t wait to have Raina apart of her day. 

Raina Bernstein 

Kate is like a little sister to Mallory. Mallory nannied Kate for many summers and has watched Kate grow up.  Kate attends the University of Iowa as a senior. Mallory loves catching up with Kate over dinner with her mom, Kristin, and Ann.  Mallory and Clay love running into Kate at the local dog park in Iowa City. Kate will be a great help on their big day. 

Kate Cannon 

Logan and Clay first met on Brandon Richardson's bachelor trip to Boston, and their similar sense of humor helped forge a quick friendship. Logan and Clay, along with Austin Branstetter, Tyler McCann, and Kyle Randall, all live within the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area and try to get together as often as they can, often over a beer or two. Logan is someone who genuinely cares about others and always makes sure to ask how Clay and his family are doing.

Kyle and Clay first became friends playing middle school basketball in seventh and eighth grade. They maintained their friendship throughout high school and college, and have recently become closer friends as they both live in North Liberty, IA and enjoy playing golf together. Kyle is always willing to lend a helping hand and someone Clay can rely on.  

Kyle Randall

Jordan is Mallory's cousin (Samantha)'s husband. Mallory has grown up around Jordan through tailgating and family gatherings. Mallory has always looked up to Jordan and admired the relationship between Jordan and Samantha. When Mallory and Clay started dating, Jordan and Clay instantly clicked through their love for football. Jordan is kind, caring, and a great husband. Mallory and Clay are honored to have Jordan as their officiant at the wedding ceremony.

Hayden is Mallory's cousin Samantha's baby girl. Mallory and Clay have loved watching Samatha and Jordan become parents to Hayden. Mallory and Clay have loved watching Hayden grow up. She will be an amazing flower girl for the special day!

Aidan is the son of Ian and Jessie Green. Ian and Clay went to college together and have stayed close since. Mallory and Clay love visiting Ian, Jessie, Aidan, and baby Miles in Nebraska. Mallory and Clay got to go with Aidan to his first Iowa Football Game as well!

Groom's Dinner Information 

The groom’s dinner will be held at Big Grove Brewery and Taproom, located at 1225 S. Gilbert St., Iowa City, IA 52240. If you are invited, you will receive additional details with your invitation, as well as upon RSVP. Cocktail attire is requested.

Saturday, September 26, we’ll host a watch party for Iowa vs. Michigan on the top of The Airliner in downtown Iowa City (22 S Clinton St, Iowa City, IA 52240). We’ve reserved the top level for friends and family—more details (kickoff time, parking, and weather plans) will be posted once game time is announced.
