Getting from the airport to Bellagio - Ubers are non existent in Lake Como :') so plan accordingly! There are two ways to get to Bellagio from the airport, taxi or train then ferry.
-Taxi: We always get our airport taxis through Booking.com's airport taxi service. This option costs around $172 each way but can be split between everyone in the car! Make sure to also plan your trip back in advance as well. The drive takes around an hour.
-Train Then Ferry: This option is certainly cheaper but may be for the more experienced traveler.. This option costs around $20 and takes around 1.5 hours. You will take the Saronno train from MXP train station connected to the airport straight to Como Lago stop (40 minutes). You will then get off the train and walk to the ferry station in Como (15 minute walk) and take the ferry from Como to Bellagio. We always buy our train tickets beforehand but buy the ferry tickets at the station. This is a really fun way to see the town of Como and get to experience Lake Como from the water.
We've tried to think this through the best we could, so bear with us! A small number of folks will be staying in the wedding villa with Mallory and Luke which is situated about 15 minutes from downtown Bellagio (the poppin' spot with restaurants and ~vibes~). Keeping in mind that it will be most people's first time to Lake Como, we highly suggest that our guests stay in Bellagio to get the full Lake Como experience, rather than somewhere near the wedding villa. We recommend Residence La Limonera or Hotel Seta in Bellagio for accommodations. However, if you decide to stay in another place in Bellagio, totally fine! It's all very walkable. Our family will be staying in the hotel where we are hosting Welcome Party - Hotel Il Perlo. The view is absolutely incredible, but it is not walkable to any restaurants or activities. You're more than welcome to stay at Hotel Il Perlo with our family, but we really suggest that you stay in Bellagio to fall in love with Lake Como :) Refer to the map on the save the date booklet to see the locations of each.
Trendy boutique hotel located in downtown Bellagio. The hotel is very small and only has a few rooms so book quick! This is the more budget friendly option and is walkable to everything in Bellagio. If you plan to stay here, use our room block for 10% off.
This is the most budget friendly option in the heart of Bellagio! The hotel is about $167/night.
This hotel has a breath taking view and is the cheapest option but is not walking distance to anything :( Our family will be staying at this hotel and this is where the welcome dinner will be on Saturday! There is a shuttle at the hotel to take you into Bellagio and a restaurant on the property. Around $190/night.
We will be providing transportation to/from Bellagio to the wedding venue and welcome party! We will also have two shuttles on call all weekend to help get around for the weekend!
PLEASE TRAVEL! We're your excuse to go to arguably the most beautiful and culture-filled content in the world. Please explore! We will likely be traveling to the Amalfi Coast for our honeymoon, so feel free to tag along! But if you're wanting to travel elsewhere, please ask Mallory or Luke for advice on our favorite places to see! Our favorite European places in order: Italy, Switzerland, Prague, Portugal, Croatia, Greece, Paris, London. If you only have a few extra days, I recommend jumping on the train (or renting a car) and checking out Zermatt, Switzerland ($100 train ticket and 5 hour train ride) or Cinque Terre, Italy ($50 train ticket and 4 hour train ride). SERIOUSLY, text Mallory and let's chat about where you should go explore!
