Simple & Sweet

Ben &amp; I grew up about an hour and a half apart without ever meeting! It wasn't until we both chose Missouri Valley College to rodeo for, that we met. At that time, we were really just friends, at best! It was a couple years later that the timing was right for us. We began showing interest in each other over the summer, and by the time we were heading back to school, we really liked each other. Ben finally officially asked me to be his girlfriend when we were carving pumpkins for Halloween on October 23rd, 2017! It was the cutest thing ever, he carved "Wanna Date" into the pumpkin and didn't let me see it till he was done. Of course, when I saw it I was super awkward (we wouldn't expect anything else), but I said YES! Since then, we have had so many adventures and created so many memories! Everything from road trips, to "investing" in more horses, and to buying our first home together. We love to day dream about where this life will take us and everything we will accomplish together. Once we had lived in our house for a few months, the topic of engagement started coming up. Of course I was thrilled, but I had no idea what to expect once we took that next step. A few more months passed by and all of a sudden, Ben was just a little sweeter than he normal is!! Ahh! This is it! Long story short, Ben wanted to propose to me at my grandparents barn where we keep our horses. HOWEVER, both days we were out there that weekend, my grandpa came down from the house which kept Ben from popping the question there! We had just gotten home from buying milk for dinner, and he had also picked up flowers. I was cutting the ends off the flowers to put them in water when Ben started talking about the church service we had watched that morning. He referred back to the message of stepping forward into who God has called you to be. And he said how he was ready to build on our future together and take the next step! Then, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! It was perfect. Just us. At our first home together. Oh...and of course, I said YES!
