This one time in band camp... we didn't know each other yet. Then after graduation, going to the Sock Hop, and the skating rink... we still didn't know each other. We had many mutual friends, we had the same circles, the same interests, at the same time, yet we still didn't notice each other. Several of our closest and best friends dated, and were married. Brett would frequent my place of employment, I remember his weekly table, because they were the rowdy bunch that made balloon animals. I had no time for this nonsense. Our casual, almost meeting continued into much of our adulthood. Fast forward, both of us having failed marriages, and tired of the local dating scene, we broadened our horizons by exploring dating apps. Then that one fateful day we both swiped right, in the midst of the pandemic when the world was weird. We finally met for our first date of minigolf, because it was outside and we didn't need masks, the date went well. However, the universe kept us apart, until almost exactly 4 years later, a friend suggestion popped up on Facebook. Reluctantly I accepted, and we started chatting, and the conversation never ended. We are best friends, and have a hard time believing that the universe kept us apert for so long. The rest of the story remains to be written.
We don’t have a strict dress code, but we suggest semi-formal to dressy-casual attire. The wedding is outdoors please dress for the weather and bring layers as temperatures can change. Sensible shoes are recommended for grass and dancing. If you’d like to change into something more comfortable later, feel free to bring a change of clothes.
Boyer Transportation (15‑passenger van) will run before the ceremony and throughout the evening to help guests travel safely. Please use this service, especially if you plan to drink.
We encourage guests to stay local when possible. The orchard has space for RVs and tents; a few indoor rooms, and spaces are available in the house. We’re working on a hotel room block nearby and will share details soon. If you need help with lodging, please contact Mandie, Brett, or Dawn.
Our extreme weather and heavy rain backup plan is at Liberty Township Fire Department. While we’re hoping to celebrate at Windy Sunrise Orchard on June 20, 2026 in Danville, PA, we have this plan in place if needed.
