How It All Began...

How Mara Remembers It...

Magic. That was the word that I did and still use to describe my first interaction with Drew. The infamous Gary Negich had been trying to set me up with one of his employees for weeks and he finally just sent him to me one day. I was sitting at my desk as Drew approached me (looking quite dapper in his suit and tie) and I was instantly nervous. I mean the kind of nerves where you get a shaky voice, sweaty palms, and (to my chagrin) rosy cheeks. Drew was so confident and I was already head over heels--I like to believe he was slightly nervous himself but he covered it well ;). In our brief exchange that day, he forgot to ask for my phone number, and although I was disappointed I had a feeling I would see him again. And two days later, thanks to the help of mutual friends, I did see him again and our love story began. It was a whirlwind and it didn't take long for me to know that this was the man that I would spend forever with.

Our time together has been exciting and adventurous; from first time trips to Napa to moving to Colorado together. We have our two fur children, Koby and Hudson, who keep us on our toes and make up our little family.

We are blessed with friends and family that have been a part of our journey and will continue to shape our story with us. Thank you all for sharing in our happiness!

How Drew Remembers It...

I must say it was love at first sight :). Mara and I actually lived in Laramie for almost 5 years before we met each other! Our story is an interesting one; my boss actually had the foresight to try and set us up (thatta boy Gary!). Being the cunning pro that he is, he had me drop off a card congratulating her employer on a very successful fundraising event the week prior. He had very specific instructions, “Remember, give this to Mara and only Mara; no one else! If she is gone, go back later and ask for her again”. When I showed up to the office, I asked a very attractive receptionist if I could please talk with Mara and that I had a gift for her. The attractive receptionist looked up from her desk and said, “oh, uh…I’m Mara!!”. I said, “Very nice to meet you Mara, I’m Drew and I have a delivery for you”. Of course we were both blushing the whole time, but she was really blushing ;). We talked for a minute before we were interrupted by one of her co-workers, asking her if she remembered about the meeting that was starting right then. I played it cool and told myself I would find a way to get her number and I left. A couple of days later I was having dinner with one of my co-workers and her husband, who I didn’t realize were also Mara’s mutual friends, and I mentioned that I had met Mara and I wanted to ask her out. She promptly called Mara and told her to come down to the restaurant to meet up with us. Mara came down and within 30 minutes, the rest of our group had gone home for the night and it was just Mara and I. We talked for at least an hour and a half and made plans to meet up later that weekend. As they say, the rest has been history!
