Our story begins at a little place called Camp Deer Run. Who is surprised? I sure was. Marc and I grew up camping at Camp since we were both 9 years old. We actually were cheukawakas together during 2nd session in 2010 but that's not where we fell for each other. I decided to start going to 4th session at camp and our paths never really crossed again until 2019. I had heard of this guy named Marc at a retreat. Somebody pointed him out to me and everyone had such good things to say about him. I remember his Blue Burnet High School sweatshirt he had on and his blonde hair. But I wasn't really interested at the time. Fast forward to 2019, our first year on staff at Camp Deer Run. We were both so excited because serving at camp had both been a life long dream of ours. We became friends and remember admiring his leadership abilities and confidence. Fast forward again to summer of 2020. (this is where it gets good I promise.) We are back at camp and we get to counsel with each other for the first time. By the end of the session I remember having all these weird feelings like, "Marc's so nice. Maybe you should date him." and, "Wow he looks so cute with a goatee." (just kidding about the last one.) But working side by side grew our friendship and we began talking after camp that summer. We snapchatted, which led to texting, then calling. By the time new years came around in 2021 I knew I liked Marc. We talked more and more over the spring semester and then one weekend in march I decided to visit Harding. We confessed to each other that we liked each other at sonic. Then Marc kissed me!!!!!!!! I was in shock. After that weekend we never looked back. The past two and a half years a have been filled with countless phone calls, fun weekend trips to visit each other at school, and lots of laughter. Marc proposed on December 27th, 2022 at you guessed it, Camp Deer Run. It was a complete surprise and now we are getting married!! In this story there were so many friends and family who encouraged us to pursue God and each other. We could not be more thankful to them. Most importantly we know that God has brought us together and we can't wait to see how he will use us in our ministry together as husband and wife.
