Our Wedding

We're hosting our wedding at Bodega Ridge, a 22-acre hillside property nestled between the ocean and forest at the base of the Provincial Park. You are all very important to us and we're so excited to bring everyone together to join us for our special day!

Tuesday 8th August

Bodega Ridge will be serving a Welcome Dinner paella. Please let us know if you would like to attend via RSVP. The cost is $65 per person. The welcome dinner will be at 6:30 and the bar will be open at 6.

Wednesday 9th August

Feel free to explore the island during the morning.   We will have a shuttle coming to pick everyone up on the island between 1 and 2PM (please fill out <a href="https:" target="_blank">this form</a> we emailed out so we know where to find you).   The ceremony will begin at 3PM.   Dinner and dancing to follow.   The bus will depart shortly before 1 AM to return everyone back to their accommodation.   Dress code: Summer formal. Ties are optional Please note, much of the day will be spent outside.

Logistics isn't the most romantic word, are we right? But this is probably the most important page you'll need to read if you want to join us on August 9th! Bodega Ridge can be an awkward place to get to if you don't plan ahead.

Accomodation

Galiano is a small island and accommodation will fill up quickly for the summer. We are taking care of on-island transportation to and from Bodega Ridge on the wedding day. There are two slightly nicer hotels on the island with availability. There is availability at Galiano Inn<a href="https://galianoinn.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://galianoinn.com/</a> Woodstone Manor also currently has availability<a href="https://www.woodstonegaliano.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.woodstonegaliano.com/</a> There are lots of Air B n B options on the island. We have found that a lot of the places have not advertised availability yet but if you do a search for a place in the Spring, then get in contact with them, they can open up availability for August 8th to 10th. We have got quite deep into this! This needs to be close to the top of your to do list!!

Ferries

As you will have no doubt gathered by now, this wedding is on an island and you will need to be a very talented swimmer to get yourself and a fresh set of clothes over there. Thankfully BC ferries offer regular runs to the island (Sturdies Bay) from Vancouver (Tsawwassen) and Victoria (Swartz Bay). Transport

We would suggest renting a car for the duration of your stay. There is a lots to do on the island but most of it requires wheels.

Groceries

Galiano has very few amenities and grocery options. If you are looking to rent a car we would suggest buying provisions (lunches, adult beverages, etc) on the mainland before coming over.

Galiano Island is one of the Southern Gulf Islands located between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. It's a small narrow island where you can drive from one end to the other in just 30 minutes! Located on the west side of the Strait of Georgia, the island is neighboured by Mayne Island to the southeast, Salt Spring Island to the west and Valdes Island to the northwest. It is known for its rustic and natural beauty with lush forests, endless beaches and provincial parks for exploring. There are several ecological reserves including Mt. Galiano, Mt. Sutil and more recently, Bodega Ridge, close to our wedding venue. There is one gas station, a small grocery store, a pub, no bank, and a few stores, including some interesting craft galleries and craft shops, all clustered at the southern end of the island by the ferry.

To do on Galiano Island

- Rent kayaks at Montague Bay- Hike Bodega Ridge Provincial Park (there are over 75km of trails)- Explore Dionisio Point Park at the north of the island- Check out some local art galleries-Swim at Montague Harbour Provincial Park- Rent ebikes or mopeds and cruise the island roads <a href="https://www.galianoadventures.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.galianoadventures.com/</a>-Rent boats and keep an eye out for orcas in Active Pass
