We met the way any good love story begins, at work, in Italy, while serving in the Air Force. (Very Romeo and Juliet, but with more uniforms and less balcony). We worked in the same building and started off just hanging out, talking during shifts, and becoming friends.
Our “first date”, if you can call it that, wasn’t your typical candlelit dinner. It was actually a spontaneous detour to McDonald’s on the way to a friend’s house. One of us (not naming names) was hungry and craving chicken nuggets. The other just sat there, didn’t order anything, and made it slightly awkward by not eating. But somewhere between dipping sauces and life stories, something clicked. We talked for what felt like hours and realized we had way more in common than we expected. That was the beginning of something special...nuggets and all.
We knew it was love when we couldn’t shut up about each other. Seriously. Our friends probably got tired of hearing our names. Whether we were talking about what we were doing, what we liked, or how “funny” or “sweet” the other one was, we were clearly smitten.
Fast forward almost ten years from when we first met, through moves, long days, late-night talks, and everything in between, we found ourselves at what was thought was just a regular New Year’s Eve party with friends. But Marcus had other plans. Just as the countdown hit midnight, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. Talk about starting the new year off with a bang! I was completely surprised, and of course, I said yes.
Now, we’re just excited to keep doing what we’ve always done together. We’re best friends, partners, and soon-to-be husband and wife.
We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you! Let's make it a party to remember!
