Q + A
Will there be transportation to the venue?
We have hired a shuttle service that will pick up guests at the location of our hotel room block. More info to come on the times guests will be transported to/from the venue.
Is there parking available?
If you opt out of our shuttle service option and would prefer to drive yourself, there is parking for 70 cars available on the property. The lot is well lit & is ADA-compliant.
Info on room block/where to stay?
We have a confirmed block of rooms booked at The Landing Hotel (Rivers Resort and Casino). It is about a 30 min drive from the venue. The shuttle service will provide transportation between locations. Parking at the hotel is free of charge for all guests, even if you are not staying at the hotel!
The room block details are available under the "Travel" Section of the website.
What time should I arrive?
The official start time of the ceremony is 4:30, but guests should plan to begin arriving at 4:00 pm.
What should I wear?
Our event is semi-formal attire, a step up from dressy casual, but not as intense as formal attire. No floor-length gowns or black ties are necessary! Think cocktail dresses and jumpsuits, suits and ties. Khakis, jackets, and midi dresses are all great, too.
Indoors or Outdoors?
The ceremony is outdoors, weather permitting. There is an indoor option in the event of inclement weather. The cocktail hour is on an outdoor patio with a covered roof. The reception is indoors.
What does an "unplugged" ceremony mean?
We've opted for a device-free ceremony. We've done this for a few reasons: to minimize distractions, reduce the number of "guest photographers," and encourage presence. If you'd like to capture the moment, don't fret! We have hired a professional photographer and a videographer and would be happy to share the photos of all the special moments with you post-wedding.
Is the entire event unplugged?
While we encourage as much presence as possible, the entire event is not "unplugged" and guests can use phones during the cocktail hour and reception. We ask that you be mindful of the use of flash photography & the moments you choose to capture -- we know you mean well, but sometimes "guest photographers" complicate the jobs of the hired photographer/videographer! We appreciate your understanding!
