Margaret and Ammar first met in Peoria, Illinois. At the time, Margaret was launching her career as a registered nurse and Ammar was starting off as a first-year medical student. Their first date was a Than Linh, a Vietnamese restaurant, followed by an impromptu visit to Round One for the arcade/bowling. Margaret still holds onto the fortune from their fortune cookie; a sign that Margaret knew there was a special connection. Since then, Margaret and Ammar have shared innumerable memories together. They have been accompanied by Boris the dragon, Koda the chameleon, Victoria the hedgehog, Rick the hermit crab, and most recently Scooby the dog… Their favorite activities included sunny picnics in Forest Park with “Big B”, holding Scooby back from attacking a bigger dog, and lazing on the couch watching GBBS (Great British Baking Show). Currently, Margaret is finishing up her graduate degree (DNP) at Loyola in Chicago and Ammar is in the middle of his residency in Saint Louis. Despite the 5 hour distance apart, their time together has been even more meaningful and there are many more adventures planned.
