Their story starts with a right swipe. Tomas asked Maggie out quite a few times, and when she said yes to their first date, they had a subsequent six dates in 7 days. Their connection was instant, and as Maggie says "I just knew he was IT for me." When Tomas asked Maggie to come to his home, where he cooked her favorite dish (salmon), he looked at her, grabbed her hand and said "I like you! But not like I like the people that bag my groceries, I like, like you." They erupted in laughter and Maggie reciprocated her "like, like," for him.

They enjoyed countless motorcycle rides, trips to the Hill Country, traveling to Portland and beyond, dinner dates, movie dates, attending many sporting events, dog walks, family dinners/events and staying together during the infamous Houston freeze after a mere month of dating. This is when they knew what they had was something unique and special.

Tomas was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Tomas had decided to move to Houston for a new job, and moved one week before Hurricane Harvey. Suffice it to say that he questioned his decision, but he held strong in his commitment to stay in Texas and make it work. The story goes that Tomas used to wear cowboy boots when he was a boy and dreamt of moving to Texas. So Tomas took a leap of faith, moved away from all of his family and friends. This was a very difficult decision for Tomas, but according to him "it was the best decision of my life." Tomas' commitment to everything he does, selfless attitude, kind heart and passion for life/family/friends is felt by all, and it is what drove his fiancé to open her heart to him.

Maggie was born and raised in Houston, Texas and found herself being challenged by life, work and school. Maggie decided to get sober in 2015 and as she says "this is when my life really began." Maggie focused on becoming a psychotherapist and her dating life consisted of "a bunch of duds." During she and Tomas' first date at The Rustic she laid it all out. She said all the things you aren't supposed to say on dates: Do you want children? How many? You are different than any man i've been on a date with, tell me what is different and unique about you? Tomas held his own, they laughed and smiled all night and they had their first kiss after he walked her to her car that night (01/08/21).

On May 28th, 2022 Tomas asked Maggie to marry him. Tomas waited for sunset as they sat on a bench looking at the water at Hughes Landing. Tomas promptly said, as he was getting on one knee, "please don't knock this off the dock and there is no professional photographer here!" Maggie began to cry and responded with a resounding 'Yes,' after asking many times, "Is this happening? Is this really happening? What is going on!" They finished up this special night with calls to family, cuddling with their dogs and watching The Wedding Singer.

They are so excited to start this beautiful next chapter and can't wait to celebrate their marriage with all of their loved ones. Let the celebrating and fun begin!
