One morning, I was running late to work, rushing down the hallway of our apartment complex with a towel on my head and heels in hand. Greg happened to open his door just as I was passing by, letting his golden retriever, Jackson, out. Jackson and Birdie, Brenden’s (Greg’s groomsman) dog, ran into me, knocking the towel off my head.

Greg looked at me and said, “If you weren’t awake, you are now!” Initially annoyed, I couldn’t help but notice he was pretty cute. I texted Madison, my roommate and bridesmaid, to let her know about the cute guy with the golden retriever down the hall.

Later on, Madison and I were at Ladybird Bar across the street when we saw Greg, Brenden, and Jackson again. I pointed him out to Madison and decided to walk over. I simply said, “I’m awake now.”

He bought me a beer, and the rest is history!
