Our Story

Love at First Like

A Little About Bobby:

Bobby was born in Russia but raised in the states by two amazing people in Rockland NY. His quick wit is reminiscent of his favorite character, Indiana Jones and his hard-working nature makes him one of the best people anyone could ever hope to meet. And if you are a history buff, you'll find no better buddy to bond with over the blasts from the pasts with like Bob. Speaking of friendship, Bob is loyal to a fault and never fails to put others first, no matter the situation. You need help fixing something, Bobs your man. Need someone to talk to, again think Bob. Need someone to make sure your smoke alarms are working? Call Bob! No really, he is a fireman, after all. But mostly, Bob has a beautiful heart that stretches to encompass everyone and anyone in his life. To say that he is a kind person is an understatement. Bobby is one of the most selfless, giving and compassionate people to stumble across in the vast terrain of life. When I looked into his eyes when we first met in person, I knew I had finally found home. I am just glad I stumbled across him at just the right time in my life because not only is he a beautiful person inside and out, he is a loving partner that I thank God for putting into my life every single day.

And About Maggie:

Maggie was born in Manhattan in 1996 on February 15th. She is an amazing cook and an even better baker. She loves to go on walks and enjoying sitting out in the sun on a nice, beautiful day. She is the most amazing person I've ever meet. She is a loving and caring person I can't wait to call her my forever on May 4th.

Our Story:

As the title here might suggest, we met on Facebook! Yup, thats right-that good old social medial platform we all love and are sometimes driven crazy by. Before we met, we spent years searching for the right person and somewhere down the line, we thought that Facebook might just be good for something. And it turns out that we were beyond right!

Easter of 2022 consisted of lamb dinner (at my house) and lamb and sugar cookies (at his) peppered with bright smiles as we checked our phones to see if the other person had messaged back. And we could not stop making our phones make noise even though we hadnt met yet.

Our first date was at Horsefeathers in Tarrytown, a quaint old fashioned little pub-style restaurant that pays homage to the most amazing figures of American literature (go check it out because we arent going to spoil it). Once again, in person this time though, we could not stop talking about anything and everything, as if we had already known each other for years and years. And then when we enjoyed an ice cream dessert at the local Main Street Sweets. We stayed there talking for so long that we ended up getting chucked out because it was closing time! That is when we knew something just felt right.

We bonded over our love of history, our unabashed nerdiness (especially with Star Wars), and our shared devotion to our Irish heritage.

And so the year went on, full of little every day moments, magical holiday memories and a few Hershey, Harry Potter and Disney themed trips and our love for each other only continued to mature and strengthen. It became more and more clear that we had indeed found the right person in each other.

And then, St. Patricks Day 2023, the most important day of the year to us (sorry, Christmas and Easter, we love you guys too) rolled around. Speaking of holidays, Maggie’s parents made each and every holiday magical for her as a kid especially St. Patrick’s Day. Well, ever since she was a kid, the lucky leprechaun visited her home the night of March 16 each year and left a trail of chocolate gold coins leading from her bedroom down the stairs to a pot of chocolate gold in the living room. And this tradition certainly did not stop at adulthood. It continued through high school, college and beyond. And March 17, 2023 was particularly special to Maggie because when she followed her trail to the living room, she found a little note amid all the chocolate coins inside the pot. It said, Turn Around. When she turned, she saw the man of her dreams on one knee, presenting her with a beautiful emerald Claddagh.

And now, here we are getting ready to celebrate not only our wedding, but the beginning to our own little family with its own little traditions, with all of the people we love on May the Forth 2024!
