We cannot wait to share our special day with you! Here is a little blip of what our love story has looked like over the last 7 years!

We started our journey together freshman year at Creighton University where we both lived on the 9th floor of Kiewit Hall, home of the FLPers (freshman leadership program). Little did Mari know that the California boy dancing in the hallways wearing shorts shorter than hers would become her future husband! Neither of us would have thought that with all the changes of college and moving miles away from home that we would find our forever best friend so quickly.

We then decided to continue this journey to Bologna, Italy to study abroad together our sophomore year. We both feel so blessed to have been able to share this opportunity together and experience so many different cultures, people and of course food! Sadly, the second half of our sophomore year was cut short by Covid-19, in which we were thankful for FaceTiming and Netflix watch party. Our junior and senior years felt like they flew by as we made more memories with friends, shared date nights in Omaha, drank many Mula margaritas and of course ate lots of Coneflower ice cream.

As senior year came to an end, Mari had told Dono that if he picked a good city to live in that she would join him (even though they both would have followed each other wherever). Dono then accepted a job in Chicago and Mari got one right alongside him and they began their next chapter in the Windy City! Come summer of 2024, Dono had been plotting the perfect engagement that, shockingly, Mari had no idea about. He proposed on July 21 at Diversey Harbor and she said yes! Mari was so surprised to go home and have many friends and family there to celebrate their special day with! 7 years later and now we are getting married…!

We continue to love Chicago and all the exciting things it offers us. We even added a furry family member, Charlie, our sweet cat to our home. We are truly so excited to join our friends and family together for our wedding day and continue our love and lives with one another. We can’t wait to see you there!
