Our Wedding

Hayden and Maria were born just one day apart in Grand Island, Nebraska. They knew each other as children, and Hayden was even photographed at one of Maria’s many princess-themed birthday parties. However, as they entered elementary school, they began to drift apart and rarely saw each other. Years later, at Riverside Golf Club, Maria happened to notice Hayden and casually yet satirically told him, “I like your shirt.” He was wearing a red “Bush-Cheney” shirt—one of his favorites—and her comment caught his attention. That same night, while her parents were out of town, Maria decided to be a teenager and host a party. Nineteen-year-old Hayden showed up with a group of friends, and what might have been an ordinary night turned into a memorable connection. After a long conversation in the backyard sandbox, Hayden firmly suggested that they go on a date. Maria agreed, and their first outing took place at Tommy’s Restaurant in Grand Island, Nebraska. Both ordered chocolate chip pancakes. On June 19, 2022, after a week of what young people often call “talking,” they officially began dating. Since that day, Hayden and Maria have been inseparable.

Emma, also Hayden’s sister, has known Maria since the days of the Albers family’s legendary annual Easter egg block parties. A fun fact about Emma is that she’s a huge Swiftie!

John is Maria's brother. A fun fact about John is that he works for Google and is a very good skier.

Avery and Maria became friends in college, where Avery played basketball at Wayne State. She’s also a proud chemistry nerd, just like Maria!



Avery Kallman

Gavin is Hayden's "little" in the esteemed Delta Tau Delta chapter at Hillsdale College. A fun fact is that he was once featured on the Jimmy Fallon show for his impressive talent of yo-yoing.

Tate, another WSC basketball player, met Maria at a party, and they clicked right away. Fun fact: Tate is a high school basketball coach in Omaha!

Jackson is a high school friend of Hayden's. Jackson likes cats and is a tennis coach at Grand Island Central Catholic.

Brigid is yet another Wayne State baller. She and Maria bonded over indie music (they both love The Strokes) and their shared Catholic roots.

Jason Lu is another college friend of Hayden's and is another brother of the Delta Tau Delta. In his spare time, Jason terrorizes the streets of New York City on his skateboard.

Ellie is Maria’s childhood best friend, and the two have been inseparable since grade school. Fun fact: Ellie was a member of the Creighton University dance team!

Kelsey is one of Maria’s college friends. They met through shared classes and living in the same dorm. A fun fact about Kelsey: she’s an incredible ER nurse with a heart of gold.
