Mitch and Maria first met in high school through several mutual friends. Mitch took Maria to homecoming senior year where they really talked for the first time, and they remained friends through senior year.

As fate would have it, Maria and Mitch both made the decision to attend Creighton University in the fall of 2017. Once starting at Creighton, Maria, Mitch, and their friend, Noah Didier, made a pact to have lunch together every Thursday while they all found their way on campus.

It was during these lunches that Maria and Mitch really started to connect. So much so that Mitch was late to class every Thursday afternoon so that he could spend a little more time talking with Maria. By the end of Freshman year, they had become some of each other’s favorite people, and they were each so thankful to have a great friend that brought out the best in them. Their friendship continued to blossom Sophomore year with more lunches, passing notes in the library, and hours of jokes and conversation.

After a summer of talking and texting every day, Mitch and Maria had their first date in August 2019. Their established friendship and respect for each other made it easy for them to quickly fall in love. They made dozens of wonderful memories together with their friends and families throughout their Junior and Senior years at Creighton.

Maria and Mitch both stayed in Omaha after graduating from Creighton with Maria starting medical school at Creighton and Mitch working at Deloitte. They continued to grow in their relationship and their love for each other.

In April 2023, they took a trip to Florence, Italy where Mitch shocked Maria with a surprise proposal, to which she of course said yes! They had a truly unforgettable trip living in the joy of each other’s company and the excitement of a life together.

Now, we can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of that life with all of you! We are so thankful to everyone who has been a part of our story.
