Thank you for being in our lives! We are so excited to invite you to celebrate our eternal union in paradise! Ilhabela, translated as Beautiful Island, is the specially selected location for our destination wedding. Aside from joining us for the wedding, you get to enjoy your own 5-night vacation to explore this gorgeous Brazilian gem.

Our Wedding

We met at the gym, not surprising. Our lives are very much centered around health/fitness due to our careers as personal trainers. Maria approached John while he was training a client and asked a question about training. She was very nervous to approach him because she is typically a bit socially anxious, but felt a strong push within to inquire about training. He offered a free personal training session to show her what it would be like. Sparks were not flying yet, but the chemistry grew over the next few months as they worked as personal trainers at the same gym. Fast-forward to 6 years later, on December 10th, 2024, two days after completing our first 26.2 mile marathon in Honolulu, John surprised Maria on a private beach in Oahu with a photoshoot when he got down on one knee and asked the question they have both been longing for. What a beautifully executed proposal! Upon reflection, it feels hard to deny that God arranged for us to meet that day and to overcome all the obstacles that came during the following 6 years. It was only right that we celebrate our wedding in a beautiful destination with all of you, our esteemed guests! We carefully selected Ilhabela due to it being very similar to Hawaii in the sense of beaches, waterfalls, tropical vibes, but without the Hawaii price tag. Not to mention, the opportunity to visit a new country and create once-in-a-lifetime memories in Maria's birth country of Brazil. Thank you for joining us on the fun! / Nos conhecemos na academia, o que não é nenhuma surpresa. Nossas vidas são muito centradas em saúde/atividade fisica devido às nossas carreiras como treinadores personal. A Maria aproximo-se de John enquanto ele treinava um cliente e fez uma pergunta sobre treinamento. Ela estava muito nervosa em aproximá-lo porque normalmente é um pouco ansiedade social, mas sentiu uma forte vontade de fazer uma pergunta. Ele ofereceu uma sessão gratuita de treinamento pessoal para mostrar a ela o que ela gostaria. Os Sparks ainda não estavam no auge, mas a química cresceu nos meses seguintes, enquanto eles trabalhavam como personal trainers na mesma academia. Avançando 6 anos, em 10 de dezembro de 2024, dois dias após completar nossa primeira maratona de 26,2 milhas em Honolulu, John surpreendeu Maria em uma praia particular em Oahu com uma sessão de fotos quando ele se ajoelhou e fez a pergunta que ambos estavam esperando.&nbsp;Que proposta lindamente executada! Refletindo, parece difícil negar que Deus planejou que nos encontrássemos naquele dia e superássemos todos os obstáculos que surgiram durante os 6 anos seguintes. Era justo que celebrássemos nosso casamento em um destino lindo com todos vocês, nossos estimados convidados! Selecionamos Ilhabela cuidadosamente por ser muito parecida com o Havaí em termos de praias, cachoeiras e clima tropical, mas sem o preço do Havaí. Sem mencionar a oportunidade de visitar um novo país e criar memórias únicas no Brasil, cidade natal de Maria. Obrigado por se juntar a nós na diversão!
