Henry and Maria first met on November 17th 2013 at an FCA event. Henry tried to talk to Maria, but she didn't give him much attention. Fast forward to Freshman year of High School, they reconnected again at an FCA event and had their first conversation. At the time, they were both dating other people and didn't think about pursuing anything but a friendship. The fall of Freshman year they started spending more time together since Maria was a football manager and they also both attended Westwood Wednesday night youth group. Henry followed Maria on Instagram and that is when Henry asked for Maria's number. They began to talk on a more consistent basis and Maria remembers Henry sending her a very sweet birthday text which is when she realized she has feelings for him. Maria asked Henry to the Sweethearts dance a couple of weeks later and that is the night Henry asked Maria to be his girlfriend TWICE. That night was the sealed with their first kiss! They dated throughout high school and did long distance one year of college. They both moved home Sophomore year of college and finished their degree while both working full time jobs. Maria graduated college spring of 2022 and Henry graduated college winter of 2022.

In the summer of 2022 Henry, Maria, and her mom were at the mall and went into a jewelry to look for earrings but somehow Maria ended up trying on engagement rings.... Henry was not prepared and was sweating... In October Henry brought up the idea of going to look at rings more seriously and they started the ring search. Henry proposed on January 12th, 2023 and afterwards celebrated with their family at a local restaurant!
