What is the wedding day itinerary?The ceremony begins at 11am and the brunch reception kicks off at 12pm. Later that night, please join us for the Pizza and Pop party at 6:30pm in the hotel Parlor room (where the reception was held). What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues?The wedding ceremony will take place at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd located at 25 South Ave, Chautauqua, NY, 14722. The wedding reception will take place at the Athenaeum Hotel located at 3 S Lake Dr, Chautauqua, NY 14722. The entire wedding will take place on the Chautauqua Institution’s campus, so the ceremony and reception will be within walking distance of one another. What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue?The ceremony and reception will be held within the Chautauqua Institution. For those coming from out of town, the closest major airports are the Erie International Airport (1 hour away) and Buffalo Niagara International Airport (1.5 hours away). Is there parking available near your wedding venue?Parking is in the South Parking Lot located at the top of Janes Avenue, a roughly 10-minute walk away from both venues. The Athenaeum Hotel and the Chapel of the Good Shepherd have limited parking spaces available, which will be reserved for handicapped guests. Is there parking available at the Athenaeum Hotel for guests staying there?No, those guests staying at the Athenaeum Hotel will also have to park at the South Parking Lot. However, guests may drop off their bags at the hotel first and drive back or have the valet drop off their car at the lot. Will there be transportation to and from the venues/parking lot?Yes, on the day of the ceremony, we will have a shuttle loop between the South Parking Lot (for those coming day-of/staying off-site), the Athenaeum Hotel (for those staying on-site), and the Chapel of the Good Shepherd. The shuttle schedule will be posted at the Athenaeum Hotel lobby and we will also send out information about the shuttle service once we are closer to the event. Will I have any issues getting into Chautauqua?Because it is the off-season, all gates are open and freely accessible from 6am to 6pm daily. After 6pm, the only accessible gate is the front gate, which will have a gate attendant. If guests return to the Institution after 6pm, they just need to tell the attendant that they are a guest of the Colt-Ropski Wedding. Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?The ceremony and reception will take place indoors. The walk between the two venues is about 5 minutes. Weather permitting, the reception will also include access to the Athenaeum Hotel front patio and grounds. Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?We have rooms blocked at the Athenaeum Hotel under the name “2025COLT/ROPSKI.” Accommodation at the hotel can be arranged through the Reservations Office at 1-800-821-1881 or by email at <a href="mailto:athenaeum@chq.org" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">athenaeum@chq.org</a>. What is the dress code for your wedding?The recommended dress code is cocktail attire. We’re aiming for a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, so we encourage everyone to dress comfortably and colorfully! Feel free to wear something that makes you feel great and fits with the festive spirit of the day. We can’t wait to see your vibrant and stylish outfits! What is the weather like in the area?In June, Chautauqua typically experiences pleasant and mild weather. Average daytime temperatures range from the mid-60s to mid-70s. Evenings can be cooler, with temperatures dropping to the 50s. What type of food will be served at your wedding?Our wedding reception will include a brunch buffet with assorted breakfast and lunch foods including salads, meats, eggs, starches, and breads. Options will be available for those with dietary restrictions or preferences. Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?Your presence at our wedding is gift enough! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home address. Will there be other events to attend on the wedding weekend?We hope you’ll stay through the weekend and enjoy some quality time with us! While our main event is the wedding ceremony and brunch reception, we’re planning a Pizza and Pop party at 6:30pm on Friday where we will play board games, eat s'mores, and compete in a Mario Kart tournament. Additionally, on Saturday, we are hoping to play a pickup wiffle ball game in the morning (time TBD) and kayak on the lake from 1-3pm. We’d love for you to join us for these moments and celebrate with us throughout the weekend.
