Maria and Yiwei's paths crossed on a hot summer day at Brook Run park while walking their pups. Blaze and Royce were actually the first to make an introduction by engaging in some intense sniffing. For them, it was love at first sniff. After that day, Maria and Yiwei started running into each other at the dog park on an almost daily basis. They formed a friendship and would secretly get excited each time they pulled into the parking lot and saw each other's cars. Maria and Yiwei quickly connected on their mutual love for dogs, especially their huskies.

After months of dog-park friendship, Maria shared her plans to attend nursing school at Emory University in the fall, and Yiwei (Emory alum and former tour guide) jumped at the opportunity to offer her a tour of campus -- for free.

Yiwei mustered up the courage to ask Maria out at the end of the tour. She said no. Fast forward two weeks, they went on their first hike together (as friends) and watched the sunrise from the top of Stone Mountain. Over time, they grew closer over their shared love for dogs, the outdoors, their life experiences as immigrants, and their family values. And then...things took a romantic turn :)

Yiwei first fell in love with Maria's smile, but it was her warmth and ambition that sealed the deal. Maria was first drawn to Yiwei's charisma and his cheekbones, but it was his kindness, gentle nature, and patience that quickly made her realize that he was the one.

Our love story is one of a kind and we look forward to celebrating it with all of you!

Los destinos de María y Yiwei se cruzaron en un caluroso día de verano en el parque Brook Run mientras paseaban a sus perritos. Blaze y Royce - los cupidos de cuatro patas - dieron el primer paso al participar de un intenso olfateo que obligó a Maria y a Yiwei a presentarse el uno al otro. Después de ese momento, empezaron a encontrarse en el parque con frecuencia mientras cada uno paseaba a su mascota y a partir de ahí empezaron a formar una amistad que prometía convertirse en algo más.

Los paseos de los perros empezaron a tener una razón adicional, tanto María como Yiwei visitaban el parque ya no solo con el ánimo de sacar a los perros a caminar sino de poderse encontrar el uno con el otro. Se emocionaban en secreto. La conexión fue inmediata. Compartían el amor por los perros, en especial por sus perros huskies llenos de pelo pero también llenos de amor y lealtad.

Después de meses de amistad, María compartió con Yiwei sus planes de empezar la carrera de enfermería en la universidad de Emory, universidad de la que Yiwei se había graduado, y terminó invitandola a conocer el campus universitario. Al terminar el recorrido, Yiwei venció la timidez e invitó a salir a María, invitación que ella rechazó, pero este rechazo no fue definitivo.

Yiwei y Mary continuaban - como amigos - viendose en el parque, compartiendo caminatas con sus perros y subiendo cimas para ver atardeceres. El tiempo, sus historias y experiencias como inmigrantes, sus valores compartidos y por supuesto, Blaze y Royce, los fueron acercando. Y luego... las cosas tomaron un giro romántico :)

Yiwei se enamoró primero de la sonrisa de María, pero fue su calidez y ambición lo que selló el trato. María se sintió atraída primero por el carisma y los cachetes de Yiwei, pero fue su amabilidad, gentileza y paciencia lo que rápidamente la hizo darse cuenta de que él era el indicado.
