Abby is Sam's youngest sister, and loving mother to many Connecticut cats - Charlotte, Wilbur, and Salem. Sam and Maria are also lucky enough to see Abby often while she attends NYU and lives downtown; they are trying to convince her to move to Queens.

Vincent is Maria's younger brother, who lives and works in Pennsylvania. When he visits his parents in New Jersey, Cubby, Salem, Luna, and Romeo all come to greet him.

Max is Sam's best friend, where they met working together at a wine shop in Astoria. He is also a neighbor of the bride and groom, living in Long Island City with his wife Maria and parakeet Pip.

While some may call Bat Maria and Sam's cat, everyone knows Bat rules the Costa-Freeman household. She will not be physically in attendance, but will expect a full report when Sam and Maria get home.
