About Us

Matt and Maria met February of 2014 after being set up by mutual co-workers. Shortly after, they started dating and bonded over their love for sports, spending time with family and friends, cooking together, and generally enjoying each other's company. After about a year and a half of dating, Matt decided to propose and the rest is history!

Sister-In-Law of the Bride. Ever since Maria's brother, Brian, introduced Bethany to the Gangelhoff clan, she fit right in. Bethany and Maria have become like sisters over the past years. They enjoy binge watching Netflix series together, shopping, and having their annual Christmas baking day. They have also ran two half marathons together and vow they will never do one again!

Cousin of the Groom. These two have known each other forever. Alex has been the big brother figure to Matt throughout his life. The two spent many hours together in their younger years at their houses, Grandma Norma's, and playing sports together throughout their high school careers. Alex and his wife, Andrea, live in Andover with their son Bryson.

Brother of the Bride. Brian was OK with Matt asking his sister to marry him and is happy to have him in his wedding party. Brian and his wife, Bethany, live in North Mankato with their son Gavin and are also expecting child number two in July! 

Brian Gangelhoff

Sister-In-Law of the Bride. When Maria's brother, Matt, first introduced Laura to the family, they clicked right away. Laura was so easy to talk to and had such a great sense of humor. Laura has always been someone Maria can go to for advice, especially when it comes to the fashion department! They both enjoy shopping, going for walks, and baking.

Brother of the Bride. Matt Gangelhoff refers to Matt Halverson as "Truman" since they share the same first and middle name...apparently Maria has a lot of "Matts" in her life. Matt H is very happy to have Matt G in his wedding party. Matt and his wife, Laura, live in Lake Crystal and have a son named Wyatt.

Sister of the Groom. MacKenzie or "Kenz" is Matt's one and only sister. It's always such a joy to be around Kenz, whether it's catching up over beer margaritas , swapping work stories, or chatting it up at one of Matt's basketball games. Maria is thrilled to have Kenz as a part of her wedding and even more excited to officially become an aunt to her and Trev's  two daughters Laney and Murphy! 

MacKenzie Moore

Elementary and High School Friend. Liz and Maria have so many great childhood memories together. Liz's house was always the place to be for tent outs or all nighters, board game nights, and lets not forget about her Dad's famous chocolate milkshakes! During high school and college, Maria and Liz still remain great friends. Maria can always count on Liz for a good laugh and a fun time :)

Liz Ludewig

Elementary and High School Friend. Ben and Matt started becoming friends in Mrs. Hoegh's 1st grade class. From there, the rest is history. Matt and Ben would make sure to get together over weekends in college, lived together at Kenz and Trev's house in St. Charles, and still remain great friends even with Ben living in Georgia. Ben works at a hospital and resides in Carrollton, Georgia.

College Friend and Golfing Buddy. The two Matts met mutually through the "Fillmore Central" gang and they hit it off. Mattie and Matt have probably played too much golf together, and possibly have done more celebrating over an average golf game than what should happen! Mattie lives in Harmony and is an electrician for Morem electric. 

Matt Lindstrom

Elementary and High School Friend. As kids,  Maria would bike up to Angela's house on a daily basis. They would play dolls, make up dance routines, go to Kiefer Park and play tennis, and have baking cook offs, which Maria would win most of the time :) During high school, Maria and Angela played volleyball, basketball, and softball together. Maria still thinks Angela blames her for breaking her nose during a softball practice but lets not bring up bad memories!

Angela Armbruster

Elementary and High School Friend. Luke and Matt were first introduced thanks to Matt's Grandma Norma. Grandma Norma is a neighbor to Luke's parents. Luke has always been a go-to friend throughout the years at Rushford-Peterson. They share the same profession in being teachers and coaches, as well as being the latest of the high school core to get engaged! Luke lives in Rushford and works at Washington-Kosciusko Elementary School in Winona, MN as a phy-ed teacher.

Elementary and High School Friend. Amanda and Maria have always remained close friends through elementary school, high school, college, and even adulthood! They both played sports together since they were in elementary school and spent many hours running up and down the court together. Amanda has been a friend Maria can always go to for advice, rely on, and most importantly she knows how to have fun!

Elementary and High School Friend. Jon "Kat" O'Donnell and Matt spent many, many hours together throughout their life. Being neighbors, they built forts, created dirt trails, and managed "the bluff" campground just to name a few. They also lived together during college and still get together when Kat is home from his busy work schedule.

Jon O'Donnell

Elementary and High School Friend. Crissi graduated a year behind Maria in high school, but it always felt like Crissi belonged in the class of '08. Crissi and Maria played basketball and volleyball together in high school and were always very competitive. They are also both college basketball fans. Even though Crissi is a Duke Blue Devils fan, Maria is thrilled to have her in her wedding party. Go Tar Heels!

Crissi Schewe

Family Friend. Robby and Matt have been friends since they were young. They have been through a lot together, and Matt has always considered Robby to be a little brother. They went to Rushford-Peterson together, Winona State together, and now "real" school together.  Both of them are teachers and coaches in Goodhue. Go Wildcats! Robby and his wife, Jacki, live in Goodhue and are expecting their first child in July. 

Robby Ebner

College Friend. Jordan and Maria have lived together since their freshman year of college and are considered "roomies for life!" They both played basketball together at Rochester Community and Technical College, graduated college together, and now both work at Mayo Clinic. Maria does not know what she will do when she actually has to live with "a boy" come October. Hopefully Jordan will still meet up with her to go on walks, chat over sushi, or for a shopping stop to TJ Maxx!

Jordan Vavra

Ole and Matt have been friends for many, many years. Ole was a neighbor to Matt's Grandma Norma so they would often cross paths when they were young. Throughout high school Matt and Ole were "the golfers" of the grade and have spent many hours together on the course. Ole works in Winona, Minnesota.

Jeremy Olson

College Friend. Megan and Maria first became friends when she moved into the 817 house during college. With 7 girls living under one roof, Maria and Megs bonded over their love for watching reality TV and The Food Network. Megs was Maria's go to girl when it came to boy advice, especially when she first started dating Matt. Megan is also engaged to another "Matt" and are getting married in June! 

Megan Fleming

Elementary and High School Friend. Tyler, aka "Scruff" and Matt first met as cloverbuds in 4H and the friendship continued from there. Scruff and Matt played football and basketball together at Rushford-Peterson and were able to spend a few years together attending college at Winona State. Tyler and his wife, Amy, have a daughter Addison and reside in Rochester.

Tyler Drinkall

Elementary and High School Friend. Sara has such a fun and energetic and anytime Maria sees her it's just like old times. They both played sports together in elementary and spent many hours playing one-on-one at open gym and lets not forget her awesome setting skills in volleyball! Sara and Maria both work in the medical field and Maria always enjoys hearing Sara's good work stories :)

Sara Soukup

Elementary and High School Friend.  Some of Maria's best childhood memories have Alisha in it. Maria always looked forward to sleepovers at Alisha's house!  They spent many hours playing Mario Party, sledding  in winter, playing "kick the can" in summer,  and pretending to be news anchors on a local television channel. Of course Maria always had to cover sports and Alisha covered the weather portion :)

College Friend. Strike and Matt knew one  another by playing sports against each other in middle school and high school. Not only did they both attend Winona State, but they also worked as bouncers at Market Street Tap together in Winona. Don't mess with these two! Nick lives in Rochester and works at Mayo Clinic.

Elementary and High School Friend. Heidi is Maria's number one hair stylist! Even though Maria lives in Rochester, she still drives back to Sleepy to get her hair colored by the one and only Heidi! Heidi is always such a fun person to be around and Maria always enjoys chatting and catching up with her whenever she is home. Maria could not think of a better person to take care of her on her big day! 

Heidi Braulick

Elementary and High School Friend. Tony is one of the high school "brosefs" and has really become a great friend to Matt after high school. These two played football and basketball since they were youngsters. Tony, most commonly known as "Rizz", lives in Rushford with his wife Katie, son Jack, and are also expecting number two shortly.

Tony Rislove

Elementary and High School Friend. Heather and Maria have been softball "buddies" since elementary. The played softball together all the way through high school and were on rival softball teams during the summer. Although they had to pitch against one another many times, they still found a way to remain friends :)  Heather is one of the most organized people  in the world and Maria knows she will make a great personal attendant! 

Heather Schumacher

Kyle and Matt first officially met living in Prentiss Hall at Winona State. They knew each other prior through athletics but hit it off in college. They are both teachers and coaches and shared some classes together as well throughout college. Kyle lives in Chatfield with his wife Sierra. They are expecting their first little one very soon!
