Anthony and Maria met at Coconut Joe’s, a local outdoor bar in Erie. Maria was home for the weekend from college and met up with Annie (Bridesmaid) and Connor (Groomsman) at Coconut Joe’s. Both Maria and Anthony had never been there before and hit it off immediately upon being introduced to each other. They danced the night away, exchanged phone numbers, and talked every day after that before finally scheduling a date! Coconut Joe’s is no longer open but lives on in our hearts!

How We Met

Anthony drove to Ohio with a beautiful bouquet of flowers along with the cutest dog ever (Tasha) to meet with Maria for their first date. Anthony planned the whole day including dinner and Top Golf. Maria was completely swept off her feet!

First Date

Anthony planned a very thoughtful and fun evening leading up to the proposal! He first brought Maria to Mi Scuzi’s, a local Italian restaurant that they had been wanting to try. After enjoying a 3 course meal including soup, pasta, and dessert, they went home to solve a Hunt A Killer game they had been excited to play. If you are not familiar with the Hunt A Killer games, they are mysteries that come with a handful of evidence including both documents and other random pieces like jewelry, locked boxes, etc. The players are detectives that work together to solve the case. Maria always organizes the evidence at the start of the game and mentioned that one of the pieces of evidence looked like a ring box! She thought it was all a part of the game until she opened the ring box to see the most stunning ring she had ever seen and Anthony had gotten down on one knee to propose!! Now instead of immediately saying “YES OF COURSE I’LL MARRY YOU!!” Maria was in shock and proceeded to repeat, “When did you get this???” About 5 times before realizing Anthony was waiting for an answer. Once she snapped out of it she was happy to accept Anthony’s proposal!
