From the point of view of Daylen Box:
Maria and Daylen met in 2014 at R.A Long High School during their first year. They had one class together that year, had a few mutual friends, and were acquainted with each other. The love started in their sophomore year in advanced chemistry class. Daylen had decided to sit next to Maria and bother her for the rest of the year, making her laugh and distracting her from learning and falling in love. After a long school year and summer of talking, joking, and building a beautiful friendship, Daylen decided to make his move and ask Maria to be his girlfriend. Maria, to Daylens surprise, said yes. Over the years, Daylen and Marias' love continued to grow and blossom. Together, they lived through many milestones, like graduating high school and College, getting careers, and moving out independently. There was one milestone that they had yet to get to, and that was marriage. While overseas in Japan at the Hakone Gora Park in Hakone, Japan, Daylen made the best life decision and decided to pop the question in the Japanese countryside. Maria, not to Daylens surprise this time, said yes. This is a new beginning to the love that continues to grow every day, and they are excited to take the steps to nurture it and see it come to fruition most beautifully.
From the point of view of Maria Hernandez:
Daylen and Maria met in English class during their first year of high school. They had mutual friends and would continuously get the opportunity to see each other. Daylen and Maria's love story truly starts when they start advanced chemistry in their sophomore year of high school. Daylen sat beside Maria, frequently distracting her with his jokes, charm, and charisma. Maria often turned to him to help when she struggled in class and as an excuse to talk to him. Slowly, these two kids fell into what they thought was a deep friendship, but indeed, they fell in love after a summer of getting to know each other more through long talks and hanging out. Maria patiently waited for Daylen to make a move; finally, on the last summer day, Daylen asked Maria to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, they went through countless milestones together, from driver's licenses to first cars, graduating High School, graduating College, starting careers, and moving in together. Maria again patiently waited for Daylen to make the ultimate move but knew he would ask when he was ready. As they prepared for their trip to Japan, she wondered if he would pop the question but wanted to stay calm if that were not the plan. While exploring the beautiful gardens of Japan in the Hakone Gora Park, Daylen found the perfect moment to get down on one knee and ask, "Maria, will you marry me?" Maria was overjoyed and could not believe she was now going to get to marry her best friend.
