Q + A

What is the wedding day itinerary?

We will have a Catholic Nuptial Mass (please see section on Catholic Mass below for more information) starting at 2 pm at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. We will have a cocktail hour and reception following the mass. The reception will conclude at 11 pm.

What is the dress code?

The attire will be formal. This entails button down shirts with encouraged suit jackets for men, and longer formal dresses for women. Please do not wear jeans or shorts, and please do not wear white, light purple, or light blue. We request that, out of modesty for the Church, all women cover their shoulders for mass (if you would like to wear a tank-top/off-the-shoulder/strapless dress, please have a shawl/cardigan/ect. for in the church). Please refrain from dresses with a low cut neckline or anything extraordinarily tight fitting.

Will dinner be provided?

Yes! We will have dinner during the reception.

Am I allowed to take photos?

We ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the mass unless specifically asked. We are excited for our guests to be able to be in the moment and have our photographer to capture our special moments.

Can I bring a plus one?

We are not allowing additional plus-ones to our wedding, as we'd like to keep the guests list just to those who know us well. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your invitation and no additional guests can be accommodated. We appreciate your understanding!

Where is your wedding registry?

Our registry is here on this website! Please go to the registry tab to see our options.

Catholic Mass Questions

What does a Catholic Nuptial Mass entail?

This will be about an hour long ceremony. There will be singing, readings from the Bible, the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony between Sam and Maria, and Holy Communion. We will have a program for you on the day of to follow along with during the mass.

Can I partake in Holy Communion?

Catholics believe that the Eucharist is the true Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Therefore, only Catholics who are in good standing with the Catholic Church (have not committed any mortal sins since their most recent confession) may receive the Eucharist. If you are Protestant or are not Christian, please do not partake in receiving the Eucharist since there are differences in beliefs between Catholic and other Christian denominations. Additionally, this is a Sacrament in the Catholic Church, which requires other prerequisites before receiving. Please reach out with further questions.
