Our Story

Part of what makes Landoll's Mohican Castle so special is the surrounding natural beauty: vast forests, undulating hills, a gorge formed by a glacier thousands of years ago... Unfortunately, however, this can make for travel and mobility issues. The Castle is located "off the beaten path" in that guests must traverse a winding dirt/gravel road through the woods to arrive on the premises. During the day, when the sun provides ample light for visibility, this is less of an issue... but once it gets dark, leaving the venue could be very dangerous. We encourage all guests to drink responsibly and account for the treacherous drive back when celebrating with us! We also hope that everyone who is able will stay on the Castle property so that they can leave the following morning, when there is less likely to be an accident. [Note: The Castle is SO FAR into the woods, in fact, that on our first visit to the venue, we thought we had gone too far, made a wrong turn, and were utterly and completely lost. We also lost cell reception and access to GPS navigation. It's old-school, but printing out the old tried-and-true MapQuest guides might be the way to go!] While our dress code is semi-formal/cocktail attire, we highly recommend guests take into account that they may be required to walk up and downhill and across loose gravel while attending our wedding; if you would feel safer in athletic shoes then PLEASE WEAR THEM. We promise we will not be offended - your safety is more important than your hot kicks! Addendum: Even the bridesmaids will be wearing sneakers. For guests who have mobility issues and would not be comfortable walking up and downhill, we will have a golf cart and accompanying chauffer to transport guests to and fro. ♥ Thank you for your kindness and understanding! ♥

* Vegetable Spring Rolls - served with a sweet &amp; spicy ginger/soy sauce for dipping

Plated Dinner:

* Classic Caesar Salad - Romaine lettuce, shaved parmigiano reggiano, house-madecroutons and Caesar dressing

* Duet Plate - Boneless, Certified Angus Beef braised short ribs with demi glace&amp; a classic Chicken Marsala

* Yukon mashed potatoes whipped with Boursin cheese, Fresh vegetable (asparagusor broccolini, depending on availability)

** TO BOOK ANY ROOM ON THE VENUE GROUNDS, CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED AND MENTION YOU'RE A GUEST OF THE ROEHRENBECK/DUNKLE WEDDING - UNTIL MARCH 21, 2025, ROOMS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE WHEN BOOKING VIA PHONE!! ** ALL Landoll's Mohican Castle rooms/suites/cabins are held for our guests to reserve UP UNTIL 90 days prior to the event. We recommend that you book your stay as early as possible to avoid missing out in staying on the grounds! The Castle hosts 11 unique, castle-themed suites that will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. They also have 4 equally amazing suites available in The Highland Building, with options for adjoining rooms. If you'd prefer a more private stay, but still want to remain on the grounds, there are 2 cottages available to rent near the Castle's entrance. The Kings Stable Suites, also on the Landoll's property, offer European-inspired, ground-level accommodations with panoramic views of the gorge and access to a lovely fire pit that is shared by all Stables guests.
