Matt and Maria met at Illinois State University in August of 2014. While living on the same floor in Watterson Towers, during Maria's freshman year and Matt's sophomore year, the two became inseparable. Their connection started as a close friendship, and quickly developed into a beautiful relationship. Matt and Maria started dating on December 15, 2014.

After college, in 2018, Matt and Maria moved home and lived with their families for a while (luckily, their family homes were only 5 minutes apart!). Matt began work at Millenniumm Information Services and Maria became an elementary school teacher in Palatine's District 15. Through moving home and beginning careers, the couple leaned on each other more than ever.

In August of 2020, Matt and Maria moved into an apartment in Deer Park, IL. The two built a home and a life together that they loved. In May of 2021, Matt and Maria added a little more chaos into their lives... and welcomed their fur baby, Marshall! Marshall is named after the floor in Watterson Towers where Matt and Maria met.

Marshall finally got his own backyard in September of 2022 when Matt and Maria moved into their first house together. The little family of three moved to Buffalo Grove, IL. to start planting their roots.
