David told Maria they were going on a double date with friends, so they both got dressed up. Before they left, David stopped Maria in the kitchen, kissed her, and told her there was something he had to show her outside really quick. David took Maria's hand and led her out to the backyard, where Maria saw David's friend John hiding with his camera (oops, Maria wasn't supposed to see that...) David led her to the middle of the backyard where he had a heart made of roses on the ground. He handed her a rose and said some really sweet things before dropping to his knee and proposing! Then John came out of hiding with his camera and did a mini engagement photo shoot. But the surprise didn't end there. David took Maria to her favorite Italian restaurant (Positano), where to Maria's surprise, both their families were there waiting to celebrate the engagement together! It was all so perfect!
