Chase and Vianney met in September of 2020 playing sand volleyball through a mutual friend, Hannah. Vianney was in her senior year of nursing school and Chase was a junior at Texas Tech. Shortly after meeting, Chase asked for Vianney's number and they hung out and talked non-stop leading Chase to ask Vianney to be his girlfriend in early November! They always joke how crazy it is they were able to start a relationship in the middle of nursing school and the beginning of hunting season seeing how busy both of them were. Now that's true love!

Both Chase and Vianney graduated from Texas Tech in 2021 and decided to stay in Lubbock. In that time period, both moved to new locations and Vianney got her first ever dog, Bucky so Chase's dog, Willie, would have a friend! They spent any of their free time together going to antique stores, going on picnics, or finding new dinner recipes to try together!

Chase and Vianney planned their yearly summer trip to Gruene, TX to float the river. They stayed at a family friend's house with Chase's brother, Cayden, and Vianney's friend, Kendall (Vianney totally unaware they were in on the secret the whole time.) Chase told Vianney that as payment for staying at the house, his family friend wanted pictures of a nearby bridge for her Airbnb website, which didn't seem suspicious seeing as Chase is a photographer. After dinner on June 2, Chase took Vianney to the bridge for "photos." While walking on the bridge Vianney began to sense Chase was nervous and had a feeling what was coming. Soon after, he popped the question and the couple spent the rest of the day calling family and friends, and attending a concert at Gruene Hall that night! That town will always have a special place in their relationship, and they still plan on visiting every summer!
