It was our Police Academy Orientation when we first met. Sitting beside each other day in and day out created a friendship like no other. Soon this turned into being partners for everything. From competing on range days to Mariah beating up Bryce in defensive tactics… literally. Eventually, we were both offered a career opportunity at the same department, which we both accepted. Next thing we knew, it was graduation day! A day shared with friends, family, and the realization that we had become more than just best friends. Within a week it was May 16th and we had gone from being best friends to a dating couple starting our new careers alongside each other. As we announced that we were a couple everyone kept saying “Well it’s about time!” and “We saw that coming!” Apparently they saw something that we didn’t.

August comes around and we moved into our first house together in Cedar, MI. A one bedroom tiny house on a friend’s property. Most importantly this allowed us to bring our fur babies, Jax and Tater back home. A few months later we made the decision to start shopping for a home of our own. After months of not finding anything, we had the opportunity to tour a house in South Boardman. It met all the criteria we needed and could ever want! A farm house, on the water with a fenced in yard for the dogs to come and go as they wanted. Within 5 minutes of touring, we submitted an offer and it was accepted! We had just bought our first home!! Ahhhh!

May 20th rolled around and we were celebrating our anniversary in our new home, no furniture, no tv, just us and our pups and it was amazing! Little did Mariah know that Bryce had already been in contact with a jeweler from her hometown who has known Mariah since she was a baby. Bryce was having a one of a kind engagement ring made just for her! For months the ring was in his pocket, hiding in his patrol car and in the back of his dresser drawer. With permission and love from everyone, it was just a matter of finding the right day. October 25th was that day. With a date day on the calendar, Mariah planned to surprise Bryce with a photoshoot… or so she thought. While at her favorite winery, Mariah’s photographer showed up for the surprise. Little did she know that the photographer had the ring in his pocket. After a few photos it was time, while Mariah was looking at the vineyard getting her photo taken, she turned around to Bryce, down on one knee, asking her to marry him. SHE SAID YES!!!

Together we have found out that the best adventures are the ones that we create with each other. Please join us in October of 2025 as we say “I Do” and start our biggest adventure yet. Each one of you have played a roll in us becoming the people we are today and we are so excited to celebrate this journey with you!
