I got introduced to Will by a mutual friend that worked at the same restaurant Will worked at. He was new to the San Diego area and I was one of his first friends that showed him around and got him acquainted. We became really good friends as time passed and saw each other whenever we could. Over the years we grew to be closer friends and talked over the phone every day. Eventually that friendship blossomed into much more. And the rest is history.

How We Met

It was a few days before Christmas and Will was about to leave town to go visit his family. He called me after work one day and told me that he wanted to go to the beach to open our stockings and presents before he left town. He told me that we could make it a tradition and every year on the 23rd of December we could go down to the beach to open our stockings. He decided it could be our special day where we could just celebrate Christmas by ourselves and spend time with just each other. I loved the idea and was so excited to just spend time together during the crazy time of year. He took me to the beach where we had our first date and had a blanket and candles set up on the sand. We even got lucky enough to have the whole beach to ourselves. Will asked to open his stocking first. He was so nervous he didn't even say a word the whole time he was opening it. I opened my stocking next and when I got to the bottom Will told me to look in the stocking again because there should be one more thing inside. So I turned around to dig into the stocking again, and when I couldn't find anything on the bottom, I turned back around towards Will. And that is where I found him down on one knee holding a ring, asking me to marry him.
