Take the Dartmouth Ferry into the town! The Alderney Ferry is a great option to get to and from our wedding reception at The Lower Deck. On weekends there is free parking, and it is a quick 11 minute boat ride to Downtown Halifax. The ferry runs on the half hour (4:00pm, 4:30pm, 5:00pm, etc.) on the Dartmouth side, and on the quarter (4:15pm, 4:45pm, 5:15pm, etc.) on the Halifax side. The last ferry of the evening is 11:45pm from Halifax to Dartmouth. The cost is $2.75 per ride. Make sure you have exact change and ask for a transfer if you plan on taking the ferry back home.

If you miss the ferry (read: if you're having too much fun), it is a $15 cab or Uber ride back to Dartmouth. Or, you could choose to book a room at one of the surrounding hotels. We have special rates available at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront and Hotel Halifax (under "Accommodations" below).
