THE WONDERFUL IDEA OF THERESA JOHNSON

Mariah and Mitch's sisters (Lindsey and Maddie) were good friends who met in High School and were in each other's weddings.

Theresa, Mitch's mommy, came up to Mariah at her sisters wedding, danced with her to ABBA, and said with the aid and confidence provided by the round of lemon drop shots she bought, "YOU SHOULD DATE MY SON." Mariah knew about her son, and proceeded to not date him, but now he was on her radar because she really liked dancing with lemon drop Theresa.

TWO YEARS LATER

Mitch swiped on Mariah's hinge. Mariah didn't check her account for weeks. When she finally did, she saw this notification from this tall guy she went to high school with, and sent a screen shot to Lindsey (sister), who then sent it to Maddie (soon to be sister), who then texted Mitch, "You're going on a date with Mariah?!?" He did not know he was going on a date....similar to her texting habits, she still hadn't responded to him.

Mariah finally got some sense knocked into her and ever-so thoughtfully and in such a lady-like way, typed in the message box, "MITCH FREAKING JOHNSON." Who then ever-so politely texted back, "MARIAH FUCKING UPHOFF!"

They scheduled a date, but leading up to it, Mitch thought that Mariah didn't care because she would go for hours on end without texting him back. Maybe she was playing hard to get? Maybe she realized he didn't actually play baseball in High School? Mariah had no idea this was happening (remember... bad texter!) and proceeded to text back whenever she thought to like a little asshole.

THE FIRST DATE

Their first date was at a location where every first date should take place- the magical, the heavenly, the stunning- Teresa's Mexican Restaurant. They chatted and laughed for hours while Mariah housed the unlimited chips and Mitch had to watch what he ate like a little bitch because he had his tennis league at 8pm and didn't want his tummy to hurt.

Mitch dropped Mariah off at home and raced out to play his tennis match, late because they just couldn't stop talking. She called her sister and said the words, "LINDSEY, I'M IN TROUBLE." Because she already liked him so much and could see a future with him after just one date and she felt kinda crazy. Meanwhile, he typed up a text asking when he can see her again. He too knew that he hadn't felt this excited about someone before.

1.5 YEARS LATER

Mariah's family had pictures, which she thought was stupid and unnecessary. Why would they pay money to take pictures right now?! Nothing was happening and we just had them at Kayla's wedding? Little did she know, Mitch was sneaky and had a ring in his back pocket. While they were walking down to the family photo location, he dropped to a knee and popped the question. She finally understood why they had "family pictures" and why her sister Jenna kept asking her what she was going to wear.

The families were both waiting for them to celebrate and take pictures with them. AND THEIR DOG KYLO WAS THERE AND HE HAD NO IDEA WHY EVERYONE WAS SO EMOTIONAL. Then, waiting in Lakeville, their friends and god-parents, and of course Teresa's Mexican (with a big fat side of queso I might add) were all ready to celebrate with them. What a wonderful day! And Mitch could finally stop sneaking around and being so mysterious.

PRESENT TIME

Now they're getting married on the summer solstice (June 21st, 2025). They can't wait to celebrate their love with you!
