We met on Instagram. She was 22 and I was 23, I slid on her DM’s like any healthy 20th-century "first move". We talked to each other online for about two weeks before we decided to finally meet! After our dinner at Postino’s, we went painting (since I knew she loved painting). Mariana is a true artist. After we finished painting, knowing the date was coming to an end, she told me she wanted to teach me how to drive a manual since she had a manual car. We drove around the parking lot a few times and I almost broke her transmission! I had never driven manual before in my life. By that point, it was already close to midnight and I had my jealous friends blowing up my phone since I also had plans with them. I told them, I never lose track of time, but she made me lose track of time for the first time! I knew since that day that she was the one. As we spent more time together, we started developing feelings and eventually started dating. Then, on a sunny October day in Lake Como, I got on one knee and asked her to marry me. Mariana is the nicest person I have ever met. She cares about everyone around her and is always lighting up the world with her smile. She is the love of my life. I've never experienced such genuine love before outside of my family. It's impossible to put into words how much Mariana means to me.
