Americans will now need a ETIAS to enter Europe. This document will be good for 3 years, but is only used for short term stays. You may not stay longer than 90 days in a 180 day period. The cost will be 7 euros. You will need this document as well as your passport upon entry into the EU. Here is the link to apply: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en
How long should my passport be valid?
If your passport has less than 6 months until expiration, many countries do not allow entry. Please check the expiration date on your passport in order to make sure you have enough time for a renewal if needed.
How long does it take to order a passport?
This depends on your country and how quick of a turnaround they can make it. In the United States it could take 10-13 weeks, but it could also be much longer. Please plan in advance when applying for a passport.
Should I rent a car?
Entirely dependent on you. Italy has great train services throughout the country, which are easy to use and efficient. However, if you wish to be a bit more flexible and want to see more countryside renting a car is recommended. You can rent a car from the Rome airport, from the airport in Florence, or the city center of Florence. All major rental companies can be found in the country.
Are children invited?
Due to the capacity of the venue, we unfortunately cannot invite children too. If needed, we can work with you on finding a babysitter in the area, otherwise this can be used as a small vacation for parents!
Is there a color scheme?
As the wedding is at the end of June, it would be great for our guests to wear summery light colors to keep in line with the time of year and the setting of the venue.
Do we have a registry?
Short answer, no. As we have not settled anywhere yet, and have just moved, there is no need to buy us anything. If you would like to give us a gift, check, cash or Revolut would be the best. The Revolut information is @mariansvli
