(North) Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is a beautiful place & is somewhere Trevor and Mariclaire have gone from the beginning. From one of the first dates to a recent visit, there are 1 year baby tigers & a 2 year jaguar to see among other variety of animals!
(North) Amelia Island & Fernandina Beach are near each other and fun places to visit. It is about 40-60 mins North of Jacksonville Beach & has some amazing Florida State Parks, beaches & town centers to walk around.
(West) Along the St. Johns River, there is a phenomenal Art Museum & Gardens, with rotating exhibits & flowers in bloom with views of downtown Jacksonville along the water.
One fond memory, Trevor took Mariclaire to see a flower exhibition by Rebecca Louise Law, The Journey a tunnel of floor to ceiling dried assortment of flowers in all different stages of decay. It may not sound cool but it was. Go check out the Cummer, if you like any variation of art, architecture or plants. You will love it.

(South) This is Reserve is about 20-25 mins South from Jacksonville Beach (towards St. Augustine) but it is worth it! Sharks teeth & shells galore, this private feeling beach has history & views for $3 for an all day parking/entry. This is the beach Mariclaire & Trevor go to often that they have an annual pass!
(South) St. Augustine is a fun place to visit. It is about 1 hour drive South from Jacksonville Beach. The alligator farm is one of many fun things you can do in this historical city. Can be fun for a few days stay or for just a day trip.
