Rob and Marie met through a modern matchmaker... Bumble. Marie was swiping through, saw this cute guy, and decided to take a chance. She hit him with her typical pick-up line: "important question - waffles, pancakes, or french toast," and he answered incorrectly (the correct answer is french toast... always), but the conversation was good enough to try a date.

Their first date (8/9/2019) was at Wild Mind Artisan Ales, which is a cute brewery in Minneapolis/Richfield. They parked their cars (almost matching Honda Civics!!) on the same road, and they were able to get the introductions out of the way before walking in together. The date lasted 5-6 hours of flirty conversation and laughter. At the end, Rob walked Marie to her car, drew a smiley face on the top, and gave her a hug goodbye. In that hug, Marie knew that there was something different about Rob.

Rob asked Marie to be his girlfriend after their third date (8/18/2019), and she excitedly said "yes!" Both wanted to get to know the other one better, and they were willing to make things official as soon as possible. Within the next few months, there was plenty of dates, meeting of the friends (cue Spice Girls), meeting of the family, and holidays.

By the time COVID hit in March 2020, Rob and Marie were already starting to think about the future. They were in each other's "quarantine bubbles," and that helped strengthen their relationship even further. Most weekends were spent playing board/card games and talking. If our relationship could withstand our competitive natures WHILE playing Monopoly, then it could probably withstand anything ;). Rob convinced Marie to move to the suburbs, and in July 2020, they moved into a townhome in Eagan, MN.

On December 11, 2020, Rob proposed to Marie at their home in front of Marie's Christmas tree (one of her most prized possessions). Rob was nervous, but he had no reason to be. Marie said "yes," and the wedding planning began!

Together, we have spent holidays with families and alone, gone on some trips (Lutsen/Duluth, Colorado, Seattle, etc.), made memories with friends/families, survived/currently surviving a pandemic, watched countless hours of the Food Network, bought a Peloton, and continued to get to know one another. We both are so excited for this next step in our relationship, and we can't wait to share this day with all of our friends/family!
