It all began when Michael and Marin decided to roadtrip up to Appleton, Wisconsin to visit their friends Kym and Colin. Michael and Colin grew up together in Minnesota while Kym and Marin worked together at a pediatric therapy clinic in Chicago. It was a behind the scenes set up, and the two suggested that Michael and Marin come in to visit on the same weekend and drive together. Michael was hesitant due to his work schedule (let’s be honest, he was just nervous) but soon the two started the drive up. A three-hour drive turned into five as they had to deal with a Midwest snowstorm and broken windshield wipers. Yet the conversation never stopped and a few months later the two were dating.


Over the next three and a half years, Michael and Marin experienced a global pandemic, getting a dog, working at the same company, moving in together, traveling to numerous countries and living it up in the best city in the world. All of it lead up to a surprise proposal in Lincoln Park surrounded by family and friends.


We are so excited to celebrate our love and future with our closest people. Here’s to the rest of our lives.
