Q + A

Travel & Transportation

Do I need a passport or visa to travel to Italy?

U.S. citizens need a valid passport (must not expire within 6 months of your return). Currently, no visa is required for stays under 90 days. We will keep everyone updated if anything changes.

What is the best airport to fly into?

We recommend flying into Florence (FLR) or Rome (FCO). Florence is the closest airport—just about an hour’s drive from the villa. Rome offers more international flight options, and you can easily take a high-speed train from Rome to Florence, which typically takes 2.5 to 3 hours. Either route offers a beautiful introduction to Italy!

How do we get to the venue?

Villa Cini is best reached by rental car or private transfer. We’ll share transportation options and recommended routes on the “Travel” page.

Where to Stay

Is there accommodation at Villa Cini?

A limited number of guests will stay at the villa. If you're staying off-site, we’ll recommend beautiful properties nearby on the “Travel” page.

Can I stay in the Villa?

We’re still finalizing villa accommodations for the wedding party and immediate family. Once we have a clear picture of availability, we’ll reach out personally to guests who can stay on the property. More details coming soon!

How do I get to the venue from my hotel?

If you’re staying off-site, we kindly ask that you arrange your own transportation to and from the venue, as rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are not available in the area. We’ll share parking info and recommendations on the Travel page!

Logistics & Etiquette

When do wedding events start?

The fun kicks off on Friday evening, May 22, with our welcome dinner—a chance to enjoy some great food, good wine, and lots of laughs. The big day is Saturday, May 23, with the ceremony followed by an apertif and hors d'oeuvres by the pool, dinner, dancing, and celebrating under the Tuscan stars.

When should I arrive and leave?

We recommend arriving in Italy before the wedding festivities! We recommend you arrive by Thursday, May 21, to settle in, allow time for any unexpected delays, and soak up the magic of the region! If you have time, Florence is a must-see—perfect for exploring before the wedding weekend begins. If you’re planning tours, wine tastings, or sightseeing, we suggest doing those before arriving at the villa, as transportation options are limited once you're there (there’s no Uber or Lyft in the countryside). If you’re staying at one of the villas, you’re welcome to check in as early as Thursday evening (events start on Friday evening). Guests will begin departing from Tuscany on Sunday morning, May 24.

Who is invited to the welcome dinner?

Everyone is invited! We’re so excited to kick off the weekend with all of our guests on Friday evening at the welcome dinner. It’s a chance to relax, get to know everyone, and start the celebration together!

What should I wear to the Welcome Dinner?

The welcome dinner will be summer chic and relaxed—think sundresses, jumpsuits, and linens. It’s an outdoor evening in Tuscany, so dress comfortably but nice. No need for anything too formal—just something you feel great in and ready to celebrate!

What is the dress code for the wedding?

The wedding is semi-formal! More so, elegant garden attire—think summer suits and long dresses.

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate the guests formally invited on your invitation. If you received a plus one, it will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Are you registered?

Your presence in Italy truly means the world to us, and we consider that the greatest gift! That said, if you feel inclined to give something, we kindly ask that you don’t bring gifts to the wedding. You're welcome to send a gift to our home, bring a card, or contribute to one of our honeymoon or home funds—whatever feels right to you. We’re just so grateful to celebrate together in Italy!!!

Weather

What is the typical weather like?

Expect lovely spring weather—highs in the 70s, with cool evenings. Bring a layer for the countryside breeze!

Will the events be indoors or outdoors?

Pending weather, the welcome dinner, aperitif, ceremony, and reception will all be outdoors!

Is there AC at the villas?

The villas are historic Tuscan homes, and like many traditional properties in the region, they do not have air conditioning. That said, late May typically brings mild, comfortable weather, especially in the evenings! Each room is equipped with thick stone walls that help keep interiors cool. We recommend keeping windows and shutters closed during the day and opening them in the evening to let in the breeze—it’s all part of the authentic countryside experience!
