If you have a passport already, ensure it is up to date. If you don't please apply sooner then later, it takes around 8-12 weeks to receive a new or updated passport.

Portugal uses Type F electrical outlets, also known as Schuko or "CEE 7/4" outlets. Type F outlets have two round pins with a grounding clip at the bottom. They are similar to Type E outlets but with an additional grounding feature. You will likely need a travel adapter to plug in your devices.

We recommend looking into your current cellphone policy and check what charges may occur from phone usage in a different country. Please check with your mobile carrier

We recommend checking your credit card's international travel policy / transaction fees to ensure you'll be able to use your cards at hotels, restaurants, stores, etc. It is also worth noting that some foreign countries may be less likely to accept AMEX and Discover for example, so we recommend doing some research ahead of time depending on your cards.
