Tulum is in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula and is about a ~4-5 hour flight from both the west and east coast of the US. There are two options to get there:
FLY INTO CANCUN AIRPORT (CUN)
Cancun is ~1.5-2 hours from Tulum. The best way to get to Tulum will be a private transfer via the company Trans 5 Senses. The cost is ~$200 and you can book using this unique link -- they will help us match guests flying in at the same time so you can split the cost --
TULUM AIRPORT (TQO)
This airport is BRAND NEW- opened in Dec 2023! It is closer (more like 45 mins) and an amazing option if you can find a reasonable route from your starting location. We will keep the website updated with updates about this airport, but starting March 2024 it looks like:
American Airlines: American will fly twice daily from Dallas/Fort Worth and daily from Charlotte and Miami
Delta Air Lines: daily service between Atlanta and Tulum will begin on March 28
JetBlue: daily service from New York’s JFK will begin in June
Spirit Airlines: Spirit will fly seven days a week from Fort Lauderdale and Orlando
United Airlines: daily service to Tulum will be offered from Newark, Los Angeles, Chicago O’Hare, and Houston
This is a boutique hotel, so we highly recommend booking early to lock in the type of room you want. Guests at this hotel get free access to PPP’s Saturday night party if you want to keep the party going.

The other option we recommend is Coco Unlimited https://cocounlimitedhotel.com/ (10 min drive, 30 min walk from PPP). It is super affordable at around $200/night....and we have a discount code for you to make it even cheaper ($130/night!). Just use code "Marisawedding25" when booking.
We will likely have shuttles from Coco Unlimited to PPP depending on how many guests book there.
There are many additional hotels, airbnbs, and other vacation rentals in and around the hotel zone if you prefer to do your own thing. Just please note you are responsible for getting yourself to the welcome party at Papaya Playa Project on Friday, and shuttles will ONLY leave from PPP to the wedding on Saturday.
Once you are in the hotel zone of Tulum, it's quite walkable and we will have shuttles to the ceremony/reception.
That said, if you do need to go farther, note there is no Uber in Tulum. If you do take a taxi, negotiate and agree on the fare before getting in the taxi. Most Mexico taxis don’t have meters, so if you just jump in the car and start the drive, they can throw out whatever price they want- especially if you are American.
The fastest and safest way to get around is booking additional excursions through 5Senses (above)
