Marisa and Peter met in 2014 at UAlbany; it was Pete’s freshman year and Marisa’s sophomore year (cougar). Marisa thought Pete was cute and invited him to her sorority’s holiday party. From that point on, they began spending more and more time together. Pete and Marisa lived in dorms that were on the complete opposite sides of the UAlbany campus; this did not stop them from seeing each other even during Albany snowstorms. After about two years of being “exclusive,” Pete and Marisa went with some of their closest friends to Cancún for Spring Break. Peter confessed his love to Marisa on a hotel balcony at 4am and this began their official relationship.
Upon graduating from college, they knew that distance would be a challenge. Peter lived on Long Island, and Marisa in upstate New York. Over the next 6 years, the two would make trips back and forth to each other's homes on the weekends. This was not always easy, but it made moving in together that much sweeter.
Marisa was adamant that she did not want to make the move until there was a ring on her finger. Peter had planned to propose on their upcoming cruise; he even hired a professional photographer to capture the moment. But of course every piece of the original plan changed. What was supposed to be a sunset proposal in the Bahamas, turned into an extremely sunny proposal in Haiti. Bad weather rerouted the ship to a different destination and Marisa ‘wasn’t going to be ready in time’ to take pictures. So plans changed entirely, but what resulted was a beautiful photoshoot, a glistening diamond ring on her finger, and squinted eyes in some photos. Perfect.
Just recently, Peter and Marisa purchased their first Long Island home. From frat basements and attic parties to now professional careers, Peter and Marisa have come a long way from the slums of Albany. Through the good and bad, it has always been and will always be the two of them. Here’s to forever♥️
