Marisa and Christopher met on a beach in Bridgeport, CT just before starting medical school in 2017. Their journey there fostered a bond between them that was forged by quality time, shared meals and the types of conversation that removed all worry and stress - even at parties the two were left on many occasions feeling like they were the only people in the room.

The turning point from a love between two friends to two people IN-love came from an incident that Christopher was fully prepared to remedy. While working with a classmate during a physical medicine class, Marisa majorly strained her back. Christopher, out of the goodness of his heart, offered to treat Marisa after school every single day until she got better. It became the part of the day they both most looked forward to. She got better quickly, but they still met. They both came to realize that with each other was how each day ought to begin and end.

Here are a couple of iconic moments from the next couple of months:

***FriendsGiving 2019 Marisa would describe as, ‘the eve of the morning she woke up and realized she was in love with Christopher.’ They laughed, they drank way too much sangria, and they whisked turkey gravy together while staring longingly into each other’s eyes. To everyone else, it looked like they were off on another planet together, comically lost in their own world.***

***One memorable hike, marked by a shared mushroom-enhanced sense of adventure and discovery, led to their first kiss. During this hike, they also heard the song that would eventually become their wedding song. Despite the cold, long, and poorly marked trail, they gained an unshakable knowing that they could completely rely on each other, cementing their bond in a profoundly unexpected way.***

When they finally got together the common reaction amongst friends was, “ABOUT DAMN TIME.” Apparently everyone knew they were in love all along - except for Marisa who was in denial for quite a while. The best things just need time to marinate.

Marisa and Christopher graduated from school and Marisa matched with her dream residency in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This is widely recognized as the moment Christopher dug his heels in and decided he would follow his woman anywhere. Their time in the Northeast was a time of first holidays spent together, first Christmas trees, and being heavily snowed in to watch movies. The summer months were packed with beach days, hikes, and the long awaited proposal on Mt. Agamenticus where he asked and she said yes.

Betrothed, Marisa and Christopher traveled far and wide to expand their medicine and learn new skills. In their quest they found a depth in their relationship which truly allowed them to step into their roles as providers, as healers, and as man and wife to be.

Marisa and Christopher are now in Annapolis, MD pouring their hearts into their medicine and into each other, all the while excitedly planning the day they will celebrate their love story with their loved ones.
