- ITALY IS POTENTIALLY REQUIRING VACCINATION CARDS FOR VISITING MUSEUMS. MUST BE VACCINATED TO TRAVEL EASIER.
-Make sure you update the travel documents and may require a covid test to return to the USA (There are self use covid tests available depending on your airline- I know United has one available as I just did it!). Hoping this will be gone by September.
- Download 'Airside Mobile Passport' to use when you return to the US to clear customs! It's a fast pass!
- To get to the Spanish steps a taxi or car is easiest. A taxi is a 48 euro flat rate to the Spanish steps.
- Wear COMFORTABLE SHOES!!!! All of Rome is cobblestone, do not wear stiletto heels.
- Bring a small purse for walking around and change purse. SHOULD ZIP!
- Don't forget a travel adaptor!
- I visited each of the three hotels listed and if you have questions I can provide information!! (meweeks3@gmail.com)
- Remember all hotel rooms are small in Rome!!
- Tipping is much less in Rome, 10% is over-tiping!
- Tours should be booked prior to your trip as they fill up! Please let me know if you need help as I have contacts!
-If visiting any of the churches you must have covered shoulder and dresses to the knees and no hats for men!
- Buy Vatican tickets online to skip the line, the Vatican and some museums are not open on Sunday! So plan accordingly! Most other museums are closed Monday- so do the Vatican Monday between the wedding and reception!
- I just spent 5 days in Rome everything was open! Masks are not required outside and sparingly inside!
-PLEASE REACH OUT WITH ANY QUESTIONS!!!
We are looking forward to you joining us for the wedding in September 2021! Above are links to three hotels we would recommend to stay at during your trip. As blocks of rooms are proving to be a challenge and not much of a discount, we would recommend either booking directly with these hotels or use your preferred online booking site (booking.com, hotels.com, etc.) Any location close to the Spanish Steps will be most convenient. We will be providing transportation to the wedding and reception from the top of the Spanish Steps. The welcome cocktail is located at the Hassler Hotel (next to the Spanish Steps). Alternatively, you can contact our travel agent Ruth Coble at (253) 732-1608 or ruth@rtravelinc.com who would be happy to assist you with your accommodations and flights. Please don't hesitate to contact Jackie at weeksje4@gmail.com if you have any additional questions.
For Covid tested flight information, we recommend following the details on the US embassy website, (COVID-19 Information | U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Italy (usembassy.gov)), and then the Italy Ministry of Health website (Covid-tested flights - Covid-19, travellers (salute.gov.it)). Airlines that have Covid tested flights also have some pages with additional information: Delta (Italy COVID-Tested Flights | Delta Air Lines), AlItalia (Covid-Tested Flights (alitalia.com)), and American Airlines (COVID-tested flights – Travel information – American Airlines (aa.com)).
