It all started with a Facebook friend request. Marisela’s friend recommendations suggested Eric’s profile due to a mutual friend, and she decided to send him a request. Six months later, Eric finally approved the request and sent a message asking, "Hi, do I know you?" From that moment, they hit it off instantly. At the time, they both worked just a short walking distance from each other, and they began visiting each other during breaks. Despite the undeniable connection, they were both hesitant to explore those feelings, so they remained good friends for six years. However, over time, they realized that what they had was something special, and they decided to take a chance. On January 24th, 2018, Eric asked Marisela to be his girlfriend, and from that moment on, their relationship began to flourish. Throughout their time together, they supported one another through significant milestones. Eric completed his Master’s degree and began pursuing his PhD at City of Hope in Duarte, while Marisela earned her Bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly Pomona. Through every achievement and challenge, they remained each other’s biggest cheerleaders, motivating and encouraging one another. As their love grew stronger, Eric knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Marisela. On April 15, 2023, surrounded by their closest family and friends, Eric surprised Marisela with a proposal that she had been dreaming of. The joy and love shared in that moment is something they will both cherish forever. Now, seven years later, they are excited to take the next step into their future together. They can’t wait to continue building their lives, creating more beautiful memories, and celebrating their love with all the people who have supported them along the way.
