We are so excited for you to make your way over to our cities to celebrate us! Michael and Marisol's favorite thing to do together is explore the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky area. Through college and up until now, we have discovered hundreds of places to go and loved just about every stop. Take the chance to find our favorite spots, there is so much to explore!
It's where it all began.
Graeter's is nostalgic for both Michael and Marisol. We both share a special connection to the well loved ice cream parlor through our grandmothers. We continue our love for Cincinnati’s best ice cream through our relationship. Be sure to try a flavor with their famously delicious and handcrafted chocolate chips!
Michael and Marisol are huge Bearcat football fans. This places holds many memories of heart fluttering kisses and heart racing touchdown views. The historical football site holds an uplifting and competitive history, as well as being one of the few college stadiums that are open to students, so long as the bearcats aren't out there working their asses off! Marisol and Michael have experienced first hand the thrill of being out on the field, storming on after a win. We've also brought our friends for late night frisbee games and just general chillax time. Come check out the beautifully big stadium and enjoy the sights around!
"It's Skyline Time" Although Marisol wasn't always the biggest fan, Michael sure is! The two still made time to enjoy some late night campus dates, eating chili, cheese, and spaghetti. If you're ever feeling good, you should know to make your way for a three-way and a chilito!
We know a place to get some freaking amazing shawarma and Arabic food! We have made it a tradition among our blended friend group (Columbus and Cincinnati) to order Al Madina when we all get together. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, the falafel is fresh, and the overall experience is quick and filled with kind people who love their restaurant. If you're looking to explode your tastes buds, give them a try! We recommend the chicken shawarma meal!
Previously known as Chatime, Marisol introduced Owl Tea to Michael to get him into liking tea. It worked. It's our favorite boba-tea place!
Michael’s love of Findlay Market started with trips with his family, but when he and Mari started dating, it became a frequent location to meet with friends or for the two to have dates. If you visit, be sure to see the couples favorite stores:
A comic book / game store / bar the couple have visited often. Kid friendly with creative mocktails frequently featured along with games to borrow or purchase. Their bar changes themes and brings to life the nerdy experiences of sci-fi and fantasy.
A Vietnamese restaurant Michael and Mari’s frequent lunch stop during visits. Their Bun (salads), Pho (soup), and Bahn Mi (sandwiches) are out of this world!
One of the finest establishments for tea in the city. Churchill’s provides high quality loose leaf teas and tea sets to accent an experience for tea lovers.
A trip to Findlay is never finished without picking up some bread. This awesome bakery is Mari’s favorite spot to pick up focaccia and pretzels and Michael's favorite spot for pastries.
Covington Mainstrasse has a variety of local food and drinking establishments only available in Covington.
Known for charcuterie boards and wine flights. Both never disappoint. If you decide to get a board, M & M recommends getting candied bacon and cheddar with carnalized onions paired with a sparkling wine or a fizzy beverage.
Gypsy’s is home to the Covington Street Hockey League, and it sure is a hockey bar like no other. The bar has been a hangout spot for Michael and Mari after watching the "bubs" play in their hometown tournaments, or to spend some time with the Acri's. Gypsy’s offers mixed drinks along with a variety of local brews. Be sure to get a basket of popcorn too!
One of Michael and Marisol’s favorite Mexican places! Frida’s offers Latin street cuisine along with crazy-fun, handcrafted drinks.
Open for breakfast, lunch, brunch; the couple love getting breakfast with the family here, especially after a long day working a flower truck pop-up!
We know Braxton is not in Mainstrasse, but it's a walk down the street! Braxton Brewery Co. is home to some of the finest crafted beers sold here in Kentucky, and also the family's go-to hang out spot when we all need a drink to relax and catch up on each other's lives. Try their 50+ varieties of house brewed beverages and make your way up to the rooftop for the city view!
This is a quick plug for Marisol's mom, Kara Acri, the owner of Scarlet Begonia's Flower Truck. Make sure to always vote for her as "Best Florist of Cincinnati" in the Cincinnati City Beat. We love a small, successful business owner who makes the most beautiful flower bouquets out there!
For the young and young at heart. These places are great for families or those looking for something fun to do.
The Museum Center is Michael’s favorite place in the whole city. He would spend many days here with his grandparents whenever possible. Home to three different museums all under one roof. For exploring fossils, a full-sized cave and outer space, take a visit to the Museum of Natural History & Science. For a peek into how Cincinnati came to be and what it was, visit the Cincinnati History Museum. And for immersive playscapes and fun environments for young learners, visit the Children's Museum.
For lovers of all sorts of aquatic life. The Newport Aquarium provides close encounters with all sorts of marine creatures including alligators, sharks, frogs , penguins and many more! The Aquarium also has a variety of interactive exhibits including play areas and touch exhibits.
So much history behind this place. The cool air and the lights are coming their way, be sure to visit the animals, get some beverages, and learn a thing of two about wildlife around the world all while interacting with Cincinnati history.
Part of a multi decade long rebuild The Cincinnati riverfront is home to many miles of parks and outdoor activities. From carousels to stadiums to restaurants to museums; there is a variety of fun activities and places to see!
Halloween Haunt is around our wedding day! Get spooked or wear a NO BOO! necklace, just go have fun seeing the effort put into making Marisol and Michael's favorite place spooky fun. Rides and food are open!
