On a vibrant summer evening in 2016, Marissa's birthday bash was the ultimate kickoff for a night full of excitement. Marissa and her girlfriends decided to hit up the buzzing downtown of Hoboken, ready for some fun. Their first stop? A pre-game party hosted by B- Young, a well-kept secret among Hoboken insiders. With the party getting bigger by the minute, in walks a tall, 'summer' bronzed mystery man, decked out in a killer denim shirt (with one button in tact) and a smile that lite up a room. Gossip quickly spread among Marissa's girls, adding to the intrigue around this charming stranger - who apparently, just flew in from Nantucket to begin his Hoboken weekend. Sensing the chance to make a move on her special night, Marissa brainstormed a clever way to catch his eye. As the night unfurled, amid talks of switching venues, Marissa noticed Mr. Nantuket's stare from across the kitchen, as well as the unorthodox button choice he confidently sported throughout the pre game. Seeing him engrossed in whispered chats only piqued her curiosity further. When they moved on to their next spot, the staple that is Texas Arizona, Marissa felt the pull to approach him. Ready to match his attention, she introduced herself and William reciprocated, acknowledging her birthday and suggesting he buy her a celebratory drink. And just like that, the night turned into a whirlwind, with Marissa and William gravitating towards each other in their own little bubble amidst the bustling scene. Fun fact – it was William's very first night as a Hoboken resident (previously an NYC local) when he crossed paths with Marissa, who had settled into her Financial District lease a few months earlier. Engaged in animated conversations about locales, professions, social circles, and a shared history involving Long Beach Island vacation homes, the unexpected synergy between them wove a connection that went beyond the norm. Spilling the beans to her friends that night under girl code, Marissa admitted, "I'm in love!" directly before her and her friends snuck out of the bar to bounce around town. The next day, while heading to brunch at One Republic (IYKYK) to relive the previous night's antics, Marissa couldn't believe her eyes when William was the first person she saw while approaching the bar, grinning, "Marissa, you disappeared on me last night." In that moment, Marissa realized that with the plethora of dining choices in Hoboken and NYC, fate had aligned their paths again, prompting her to embrace the unexpected intersection of their lives. And with that, their journey kickstarted! A journey that led to their first official date at Hudson Clearwater in West Village, where Marissa went big ordering two entrees while William went for just one. And so their relationship blossomed, juggling city life, work, and milestones, from Gramercy Park, to adopting two furry friends, and finally making their way to Tribeca. Spending summers immersed in the charm of both their families vacationing in Long Beach Island, Marissa and William embarked on a tapestry of shared experiences, blending work, home life, and their evolving family dynamics. Seven years later, Marissa, William, along with their dear friends, Matt and Ariane, embarked on an unforgettable voyage to Argentina. Entrusting the trip planning to their seasoned travel companions, the quartet embarked on a seven-day odyssey commencing in Buenos Aires. Immersing themselves in the city's cultural tapestry, they partook in a bicycle tour, a spirited Argentine Tango dance class, and savored the culinary delights of the esteemed #1 restaurant in the world, Don Pepe. Transitioning for the latter half of the trip, they hopped a plane to the countryside of Mendoza, unearthing the region's rich viticultural heritage through a series of vineyard tours, culminating in a final stop, and a picturesque sunset at the family owned - Anaia Winery. As the sun dipped below the captivating Mendoza mountains, William took Marissa's hand and knelt. He reflected on their shared experiences, growth, and unwavering commitment that had strengthened their bond, asking Marissa to marry him. Overwhelmed with joy, Marissa said 'yes,' marking a new chapter in their journey and the exciting adventures ahead.
