Andrew and Marissa met in high school, where they were both in the pit orchestra for the school's spring musical. They continued their friendship in orchestra class the following school year when, to Marissa's surprise, Andrew asked her to the homecoming dance. The rest of that school year included prom, another musical, and several awkward photos until they parted ways when Andrew graduated. That is, until four years later when they met up again and reconnected ... in the pit orchestra for the exact same musical where they met!

The following years were mostly long-distance, so many, many hours were spent talking to each other over Skype. Andrew and Marissa's favorite memories together include their cross-country train trip to Seattle in 2021 and their Vienna-Prague European vacation in 2022 (unfortunately without Marissa's suitcase for most of the trip!).

Andrew proposed to Marissa on a trip back to their hometown for a holiday weekend. Finding some time away from their families, Andrew brought Marissa to the courtyard in front of their old high school for an intimate proposal. Marissa was so excited that she quietly screamed the entire car ride back to tell their families the good news.
