Marissa and Cohen met on Hinge in the heart of the pandemic. While most states were closed, restaurants were starting to open in Texas, and their first date was on Cohen’s birthday. With limited things to do, the two would continue to go on dates. They quickly bonded over their love for sports, food, and travel. By the end of the summer, they decided to make it official and started dating. For two people who loved to travel, they knew they needed to go on a trip together to see if they were compatible travel companions. The couple took their first trip to Atlanta. Cohen and Marissa met each other’s friends, ate their way through the city, and sprinted through the airport to barely make their return flight home.

After the trip to Atlanta, it’s safe to say the two both loved traveling with one another. They continued going on trips throughout the US, Mexico, and Europe.

In October of 2020, Marissa got to see how big of an OU fan Cohen was. They went to Red River Rivalry in the heart of the Texas State Fair to watch Oklahoma play Texas. Oklahoma prevailed, per usual, in a triple overtime thriller that left Cohen without a voice. Cohen joked with Joshua that if she can put up with me today and still likes me, she’s probably the one.

At Thanksgiving in 2021, Marissa could spend more time with the Howards. Being very competitive, Marissa wasn’t sure if she could express herself during Game Night. She quickly learned they were just as competitive and fit right in. Dominoes may or may not have been thrown off the table that evening.

In July 2022, the couple took their next big step and moved in together.

In May, the couple returned to France for Cohen’s 30th. After escaping the year prior without proposing, Cohen knew he couldn’t leave the continent again without getting on one knee. While in Cannes, Marissa said “yes” to Cohen, and the couple couldn’t be more excited about spending the rest of their lives together.
