Chris and Marissa met when she was living in Davenport IA attending Palmer. They connected through Facebook dating and after talking for a week they met for their first date on October 3rd, 2021. They shared drinks at Armored Garden, had burgers at Front Street, walked along the Mississippi River, and finally played a game of basketball (where Marissa allowed him to win). After the game, they shared the first kiss. When he dropped her off that night, he met Bentley for their first time, which Chris still considers the main reason for the second date.

For their second date, they drove 30 minutes to Tycoga Winery and Distillery. This is where Marissa passed on her love for wine to Chris. They also ran into his Aunt Michelle who was the first one to meet Marissa and is now their wedding officiant.

After dating for a month, Chris asked Marissa to officially be his girlfriend on the night of October 31st after she made him her famous chicken alfredo casserole for the first time. Chris also noted that being on Halloween remembering their anniversary would be easy.

Through the following years they moved in together and shared many adventures including multiple trips to Wisconsin, jet skiing on the Mississippi, Marissa out-fishing Chris, hiking, visiting wineries, and finally adding a new member to their family with Bailey. All these adventures lead to their week trip to Door County where Chris proposed at Cave Point on June 20th, 2023.

In June 2024, they moved to Sturtevant WI, where they started new jobs and the next chapter of their lives.
